A++. Easy to install and set up. Far far better than other products that I tried (as described).
Extremely impressed by the ease of installation and functionality. My property is 60 x 100 and essentially flat. By most measures, its not a large lot. I live in Long Island, on the South Shore. I am not a gardener, but an attorney who enjoys Sunday projects with my kids. I did not formally measure the water pressure / output from my outdoor spigot, but I have never had reason to complain in the 15+ years that I have owned the home. We had an above ground pool that I filled each season, and countless water fights, but never any complaints about water pressure. I did not know what to expect when installing a sprinkler system, and decided to go above ground this year. Attempt #1: Gilmour Turbine Rotor Sprinklers With Metal Spike Bases 200MMS. With one attached, the water was discharged 15 feet *maximum*. With two or three attached to each other, the distance dropped to 6 feet *maximum*. I placed the sprinklers at the corners of my house, hoping to free up the center of the lawn for children's play, etc. but no way those sprinklers could reach the center of my lawn. The sprinklers worked, but not well. Returned for refund. Thanks Amazon! Attempt #2: 6,500-sq ft Impulse Spike Lawn Sprinklers for $39 total from a local store. Improvement in coverage was dramatic. With fewer sprinklers installed, I covered more of my lawn, and the cost per sprinkler was lower. However, after one week, the impulse sprinklers stopped moving reliably. Very disappointing. Attempt #3: Bought these Rainbird 52SA heads and installed them on the spikes from the impulse sprinklers. Exact same sprinkler configuration, and these are perfect. If I had bought these when I started, I would have saved lots of time, effort and prevented an equal amount of frustration. A bonus is that if I decide to install my system below ground, I can still use these sprinkler heads. [UPDATE 1] 4 years later and still awesome. At the end of each summer, I detach them and store them in the garage. No special maintenance. They just work perfectly.

Great quality sprinkler
Awesome sprinkler. Very easy to control. Installation is smooth. Make sure its 3/4 thread. I thought it was 1/2 inch. Pressure can be better but works for my lawn size. Would definitely recommend it.

Thousands of dollars trying to water my yard... and all i needed was this.
Seems cliche... but there's a reason that Rain Bird is what they are. I was spending TONS of money over the years trying to water my large yard with big trees that get in the way of sprinklers. Then last year, I finally decided to try the industrial solution and bought some of these. I was a bit intimidated by having to make risers and such because I'm using hoses and self made risers to get the sprinklers over the bushes and such. It was a cake walk. And the coverage of these things is insane. I went from a 12-station manifold with other brands of sprinklers to 5 stations and these. The time spent watering is the same roughly because I'm still needing to cover the square footage... but it's just simpler and the hardware outlay is a fraction of what I have spent on the rest of the homeowner ideas that I had. Wish i'd have used these initially. One criticism is... if you have not used these before you will probably have a learning curve with the adjustment. And to ME?... it's counter-intuitive for the rotation of the limiting of the travel. But once I convinced myself of how to do it... it's 100%. Also... get the little heads that go with it so you can control the flow. I'm using these for my residential watering and the long reach flow control head that comes installed with it gives WAY too large of a radius of coverage. And swapping out the little heads is super simple. Even I can do it. Thank you Rain Bird.... beautiful product. ALL of my sprinklers have been replaced with these.

Replacing plastic body sprinklers with these
Over the years I have seen that the stainless steel body sprinklers are far less prone to sticking in the up position after a few years of use. The only downside with these sprinklers is that they do not come with the variety of nozzles that some of the plastic body units come with. They ship with a 3.0 gallon per minute nozzle while on mine I use anywhere from a 1 gpm to a 2.5 gpm. That means you have to buy a plastic nozzle 'tree' which has about 10 different sizes specifically for the 52AS sprinkler head, which is the same as the 5200 Pro series, but the 5200 is a plastic body. The best thing about installation of these Rainbird sprinklers is the easy positioning of the spray area from a few degrees to 360 degrees. Rainbird says not to use pipe dope on the fittings, but Teflon tape is crap to use. Rectorseal make a Teflon enriched paste formulated specially for plastic fittings. The name is 'T PLUS 2' and comes in a 1&3/4 oz. tube.

Edge of driveway tough.
Visitors insist on driving on my lawn and running over my lawn sprinklers. With this tough sprinkler I can fight back.

I purchased this, and many others like it for an experiment to use in cottage wild fire protection. This one has been the best out of all my trials so far. Works great on lower pressure giving me a 360' spray, and can this this shoot far when I crank up the water pressure. I suspected that I would need several sprayers to cover a standard cottage but with just this one unit covers my testing cabin keeping everything wet. I'm thinking next spring buying more of these for my house and replaceing the inground sprinklers I already have. This works far better than the ones I have already for my lawn and shrubs.
