This product was tailor-made for my taste. I am crazy about gumbo (and okra in particular), but I don't often have the time to whip up a batch on my own. Okra-based products are rare in grocery stores near me, and I haven't ever found a canned gumbo product that really appealed to me. Ben's Street Food Gumbo broke the mold, and I try to keep some on hand all the time. It's a little spicy, but not too spicy for me. It costs more than some microwave meals, but a good bowl of gumbo is worth it once in a while. My only complaint is that the adhesive holding the sealing film to the bowl doesn't age well, with older packs sometimes refusing to open under moderate tugs. This gumbo rarely gets old enough at my house to be a problem.

This rice dish is AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL! It has a weird, unpleasant taste. Cooking the packaging it came in would taste better. Avoid this disgusting dish. Ben's you should be ashamed. Makes me want to never buy another Ben's product. Do better for your customers.

I thought this was going to be super spicy or would have an odd flavor trying to replicate Jamaican jerk. It was quite the chance I took buying a pack of these before even trying it once. The Jamaican jerk flavor was actually quite mild in spice, to nearly no spice at all. The flavor didn't overwhelm the rice and beans, and added just the right amount of flavor and didn't overwhelm - almost like a gentle kiss of flavor. The beans and rice have the classic Ben's taste from any of their other beans amd rice classic taste - but with some underlying tones of Jamaican jerk.

I like Bens rice and by it often. I also like rice and beans and Mexican foods that I enjoyed in Texas, But I got used to milder spices in Lubbock and even when I lived in Laredo. This bowl was filled with good rice and beans. But hotter than I like. Pain is not a flavor for me. If you like heat, this will be just fine. The quality is excellent. I added some sour cream and some salad dressing and that helped. But not enough for me to buy more. I may try the other versions.

Unpleasant smell, and somewhat unpleasant taste as well. I ate it all, but it was not enjoyable.
