I've been doing yoga for about five years now, but recently I started going to a hot yoga studio in my area. At first I used a beach towel, but it was too slippery and I was not able to focus on yoga at all! I decided to invest in a yoga towel with grip and bought this set. I thought that if I had two, I could use one while washing the other. It was also one of the most inexpensive mats I found on Amazon. My impression after using it was that it's perfect for hot yoga. It made such a huge difference. I use it with the grip side facing up (some people like to place it with grip side down) and it doesn't slip no matter how much I sweat. I've only washed it a little less than 10 times so fa, but the grip hasn't decreased. Also, the size of these mats is just right, a little larger than the size of a standard yoga mat. It's thick and somewhat heavy, so the mat doesn't slip or move easily. Despite the thickness, they dry pretty quickly after washing. Maybe I only need one, not two. Other people's hot yoga towels seem thinner and lighter but they seem to move around more. If you walk or bike to the yoga studio, this might be a bit heavy but If you drive, it's no problem.

I'm just getting into the world of hot yoga and quickly realized the need for a wiggle-proof mat towel. I bought this set because - hey, the price is right! Now I have two I can alternate. Win. Love the grippy dots that hug my mat close and help me avoid a slip up. I bought the gray color, and, while I love a deal in cases where I don't know if this is a lifetime thing or a just-a-season thing, my love for color has me pining for pretty designs. Luckily, my concentration is fixed solely on not falling out of my eagle or tree poses, so color is somewhat moot at this point. Absorbant! When they crank the heat, I don't worry because these towels got it handled. Easy wash and dry and we're back for more. Happy with this purchase.

I gave this four stars, but I did really like it but I have some take aways- I am a Manduka towel lover but I do yoga 3/6 times a week, often my husband joins me. We cycle through a lot of towels and I/we needed more. It’s hard to justify the price of my usual choice for backup towels. Things that I liked about the towel: -perfect fit for my mat -edged perfectly and very comparably to my spendy towel - mini grippers, like my spendy towel are “sticky,” and grippy. They are, in fact, stickier than my other towels. How did we lose the one star? -the waffle-esque fabric used for the towel takes some time to become grippy. It has to really absorb some sweat/humidity before you start experiencing an appropriate amount of grip. If you’re familiar with hot yoga, you know how important it is to have a GOOD solid grip as fast as possible. I find that I slide around a lot for the first ten minutes or so depending on how hot the class is. I’ll slide around for half the class (30 minutes) if it’s a “warm,” class. I do think it’s good quality. It’s been a while since the purchase and the towels have been used and washed frequently. The grips are still sticky, so your towel stays put on the mat but it is truly hard to get a grip with your hands and feet until there’s some moisture on the towel. I don’t think it’s a “dupe,” for my preferred mat but it’s good if you mostly need extras/backup.

Used this towel at a Bikram class and it gave me good traction and stayed flat for the most part. It does dry quickly. But I do wish the color and lack of pattern was more appealing. I had to cover my beautiful mat with something boring. Great value for the price though. This fit slightly over the edges of a regular sized yoga mat.
