I didn’t purchase this for the purpose of tube feeding or anything like that. I simply saw the possibilities, since it is so very high in all the necessary forms of nutrition - essential, vitamins, and minerals plus all the basic amino acids in relatively high amounts - to make it into a sauce that can be used with all kinds of dishes. All one needs to do is mix it with just enough honey (organic) to upstage the rather weird taste of it to make it tasty but not to make it a source of spiking in glucose. One pack will last two days. So that’s 48 days of much-needed added nutrition for $150. I grind my own pumpkin seeds (that I buy from Amazon) into butter and mix it with Complete Organic Brands Dark Meat Chicken veggie and fruit purée. This provides extra protein and fiber plus more vitamins and minerals to the sauces I make. When it comes to making my own healthy food I’m always trying to find new ways to do so. In the long run, it takes me less time and cost less than the protocol many people used to buying and preparing food without having to go in person to a box store and risk getting sick from who knows what pathogens may be floating around because nobody seems to be wearing masks or social distancing anymore.

This is my go to option for a convenient and healthy blended meal for my dad who is on a peg tube. It’s plenty for a meal. I add a little water to make it go down smoothly with a syringe. A tip...keep the nozzle of the syringe dry each time you insert it in the tube and use a series of small increments of pushes interspersed with wait time. No back pressure that way.

We discovered this product on Amazon, several months ago. It has become an essential part of the daily nutrition for a loved one with issues swallowing. The pediatric variety has fewer calories, and less protein, so we stick with the adult version. Highly recommended.

i have had to use these on and off for oral feeding for years, due to chewing, dysphagia-swallowing, stomach-digestion, and neuro problems that make chewing, swallowing, keeping food down, and digesting difficult. i can’t say much about flavor, though, since my sense of taste and smell only flicker sometimes. but so far, i have tried several orders. i slightly warm and knead them well. some were mostly what i expect, a pureed meal, basically baby food (only with vitamins added, and wayyy more expensive), thicker than RealFoods Blends, maybe IDDSI level 3 or the thinner, grainy side of honey thickness, as a guess. But many pouches have been so weird, clumpy and chunky, with thick strands of dryish powder that would be hard for anyone to swallow or use through a tube. And there must be extra rosemary and turmeric in most because they irritate and burn from my mouth to my stomach. maybe they are from the bottom of the barrel. not sure how anyone would use food like this for tube feeding, either, they are so rough and burning. do we need more trouble eating? Only one pouch was broken open when it arrived, but that was the final straw for me. Still, they are extremely nutritious, if you can risk the burn. and i am thankful that we can use snap ebt to pay for any brand.
