Works great for Stardew Valley on iPhone, even with a phone case!
Bought this solely for playing Stardew Valley on my iPhone 16 and it works great. The instructions were a bit lacking so it took some searching around to figure out how to switch it from "Android" to "Switch" mode in order to work with my iPhone but once there it stays there so I don't have to worry about it. The controller also included various thicknesses of rubber pads that go alongside the USB-C plug which allowed me to fit my phone into the controller without taking my phone case (a standard Speck case) off which was another concern. The buttons are a little cheap feeling but they work just fine and the whole controller is nice and light which is appreciated so no complaints. I did not have to configure any buttons either, it worked as a normal control would once plugged in and set to "Switch" mode. Would recommend!

Worth the price
It’s a rather sturdy controller for the price, not so flimsy in the hands. The pass through charging is rather picky as you can’t use any of the modern fast chargers. There’s no audio pass through so grab some headphones while your at it. The apps don’t work in iPhone but toughen than that it’s a solid controller

Limited on IOS
Fits on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad Mini 7. Even with the cases on. Tested with the Delta app and initially was not recognized. I switched to Switch Mode (red light) and Delta recognized immediately. However, the menu button is still not recognized. I had to assign the menu to one of the triggers. Still not ideal but a workable arrangement. I like that this is smaller and lighter than my G8. Bought this so I can use for long travels. Hopefully the menu issue is fixable via firmware.

So worth it
Great controller for the price. However I did return it for a couple reasons. 1. The controller doesn’t work with Wuthering Waves on iOS. There’s a workaround where if you plug another controller into the device and get controller functionality to work then disconnect that controller and quickly plug the X5 lite in, it works just fine. Really strange imo. 2. The handles and thumb sticks are a little small for my hands. It’s really nice looking and initially feels great but I noticed my hands getting slightly worn out when using this for a couple hours. Not even bad just slightly noticeable. Overall I actually really liked this controller. If it wasn’t for it not working with WuWa I would’ve kept it. It works with ZZZ and Xbox cloud gaming flawlessly which is nice. I have a 16 Pro Max and it’s a perfect fit to me. Super sleek looking and it would be really easy to travel with. The pass through charging is also super nice too. It was really convenient having that when playing in bed. It also snapped right in and worked. Didn’t even download the app or anything it was just ready to go. I also like how quiet the buttons are. I got the Gamesir G8 Galileo (which is how I found out about the work around to get this controller to work on WuWa) and the buttons are noticeably louder on that controller over this one. Triggers, ABXY buttons and the D-pad are all really enjoyably quiet on this controller. I would definitely recommend if you’re either on a budget, don’t play WuWa on mobile or just want something compact to carry around. This things gonna end up being the Backbone killer. Totally worth it!

Fantastic controller at the price
It's a great controller that feels good in your hands. It's as portable as the Backbone but feels better because of the joysticks and the grip. One of the best design elements is the movable USB-C which makes it easier to put your phone in and out. It also comes with different sized pads so that you can keep your case on while using it. I dislike how the Backbone seems to take the top position in terms of phone controllers because it's actually one of the worst out there. For what they're charging for the Backbone, you might as well buy an actual PS5 or Xbox controller. It's insane to me that such a terrible controller from Backbone can command that price with the lack of features and design consideration.

Very impressed.
I've tried different controllers and this one is interesting. First is that you get rubber bumpers of 3 different sizes so your phone can be plugged in with a case on. I have a Samsung S23 ultra and with the case i have, it would not fit any of my controllers. For me, that is a big plus. Another thing is that if you look at the pictures, its not flat like other controllers or angled. It like a ball that you grip and there's no awkward feeling when you play. The buttons have good feedback. It has a soft click to them so its kind of a middle ground if you like the click or not. It has a turbo and screen shot button. The controller is very responsive. Ill need to turn down my settings. The awesome thing is that it worked right out of the box. No set up or calibration. How long will this controller last? Idk but for the price, u cant go wrong. At the very least, its a solid backup controller.

Usb-c swivel, fits all phones with a case
This controller is an easy five stars for me. A lot of people worry about whether it will work with a phone case, so here’s what actually happens: the USB-C connector isn’t fixed in place, it swivels, which makes it far more adaptable than most mobile controllers. And if your case is a little thick, you can simply remove the small rubber pad next to the USB-C port and your phone will slide in and connect perfectly. I’m using it on my Galaxy Z Flip 5 with the case on, and it works just fine. The overall build is solid, it feels great in the hands, and the spacing is comfortable for long sessions. Everything fits the way it should, and the controller just works. Highly recommend it.

Works really well for Android phones with USB-C ports and barely needs any set up. Grip is comfortable and feels solid enough even though it is rather light.

Very happy with this controller. I already own a GameSir G8 Plus, which is a great controller, but as I have a few different mobile devices I decided to buy the X5 Lite as well, since it's relatively inexpensive, and it works great! It's similar to the Backbone One, but I prefer it over the Backbone as I find it more comfortable to hold and it's not as clicky and noisy to use as the Backbone. Not only that, but it's much less expensive. Compared to the GameSir G8 Plus, the X5 Lite is a little smaller (but doesn't feel too cramped) and also a little lighter, which is a plus. Also it's nice to have a controller that doesn't have a battery and so doesn't need charging. In short, I'm very pleased with both the G8 Plus and this X5 Lite, and will be using both on my different devices. I'm using this controller on a Lenovo Y700 8.8" tablet right now, and it's a great setup.
