These seem to work well for filtration, but pulling them all out to wash them, when closing our pool, was tedious and somewhat annoying. I ran them through our washer and dryer (as they are safe to do so) and they help up really well. It was worth the purchase as a temporary solution, but I think using sand is a lot more economical for long-term use.

I bought a smaller sand filter for my small above grond pool. I was tired of buying replacement filters that would clog and stop flowing. When i bought the filter, i did research on sand and found these. These a little more expensive then some, but have a good rating. I tested them before i attached it to my pool. They seemed to work just fine. Now that the filter and pimp is attached to my pool, things seem to work well. Update. A year now, water is clear. When i closed my pool, I emptied these out of the filter and the top layer was gross. So i pressure washed them. Let them dry in the sun, good as new. Put them back into the filter, fill, rinse, flush, and boom clear water. I still have half the bag I haven't used. I'm not sure what those folks have happening that it doesn't filter (mine got all the gross). My pump is twice the size needed for my pool, but I wanted that so it didn't have to work as hard when it was running. Just these, my pump and occasional vacuum of the little stuff that settles into the corners and my pool is clean.

For the price point, these filter balls work exceptionally well and are easily changed out

These things only collect algei in the pump filter area that then seams to only generate back into the pool and when you turn on sand filter to , water, backwash or recirculate or filter no dirt every comes out of the water outlet or goes thru the looking glass . This product sucks worse than USEING sand at least with sand my water stayed clear and clean . After about 2weeks frustrations not being able to swim in filthy green water with algey everywhere floating . I finally said let me check these balls don't need washing & oh my God the water was nasty green . No wonder pools not clean so I can use it and over the past week has been 114 degrees in the shade on back porch . I'm going back to sand in my filter at least I can see the dirt wash out from it and I was able to use my pool in this dry heat temps . This product sucks I want a refund and my money back but of course consumers don't realize this product is the real problem till after Amazon does not allow you to return this item after 30 days expires don't get frauded by these dumb useless balls

Works great my pool is always clean and I made it through the whole summer without removing or replacing them to clean them.

I used these for a full season and we are going back to sand next year. These balls filter debris much better than expected but turned my water blue because of all the blue fuzz. We also experienced episodes of cloudy water which caused us to use much more additives then we ever had to with sand.
