The pad itself is wide enough to cover majority if not the entire abdomen, so you don't need to double up and I found it can last for greater than 8 hours, but I did not leave on for more than about 9. Review: Lifesavers, better than the cheap ones by a lot. Last the full 8 hours. Can get very hot depending on airflow, so you may need to tuck your shirt between it and your tummy. Amazing for cramps; if heat helps you (you can test if heat helps you by using a dry rice heat sock [look it up]. If it helps, you will want these so you’re not going back to the microwave every five minutes and to hide the bulge). If the heating pads are not warm within 15 minutes, you may not have airflow; they need air to work. They work on sore backs as well as tummies. The description states 6 but the product images states 3.** A: Hello - there are 6 wraps total. There are two boxes with 3 wraps each. **Q: Okay I know the adhesive goes against your undergarments, but does it go inside your undergarment directly on the skin or the outside?** A: It's meant to go directly on your skin. It's underwear, then adhesive, with the heated side of pad directly on your skin. I don't find it to be too hot unless I wear it for over 8 hours, which I'm pretty sure it says not to do. Otherwise these are GREAT. Heat works so much better then pain relievers for me. **Q: Are these TSA approved to carry on flights?** A: Yes. I've traveled a lot and tsa does not restrict these. It helps a lot with the pain on days when I need to be working or standing all day. I also like having these when I get my period while traveling, such as during long flights.
