Having a long hose without a reel is extremely difficult- my house was unable to accommodate a hide a hose system so I had to go with the regular central vacuum. This reel has been a life saver! I have 60 ft of hose and it fits on the reel with a little additional room so I think you could probably use it for up to 65 feet. This is sturdy and the reel mechanism seems high quality.
