As others have said scrolling quickly produces a slightly more noticeable sound, but scrolling slowly is stealth compared to the ambient noise I normally hear in my office. **Q: USB 3 or USB 2?** A: My system says this mouse is USB 2, but it would not surprise me if it is a USB 1.1. Mice don't need much bandwidth. As far as the USB connection, it is USB-A (used in USB 1.1 through USB 3.2). To use this on a very new computer (like a MacBookPro M1) that has only USB-C ports (used for USB 4, Thunderbolt 3 and 4, and some USB 3.2), you would need a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
