Handles My i9-12900KS + RTX 3090 Rig Without Breaking a Sweat
I’ve been building PCs for over a decade, and this is easily one of the most impressive power supplies I’ve used to date. I picked up the CORSAIR RM850e (2025 revision) as part of a rebuild centered around an Intel i9-12900KS and RTX 3090, and I’ve been nothing but impressed so far. Build Quality & Design: The unit itself is solid — heavy in a reassuring way, with a clean black finish and no unnecessary branding or flashy extras. The fully modular design is a huge plus, especially for managing cables in a tight mid-tower. I appreciated that the included cables were all black and flat — easy to route behind the motherboard tray, and they look clean without custom sleeving. Installation & Cabling: Installation was simple, and everything fit snugly. I’m using the standard 3x 8-pin for the 3090, but it’s nice knowing the 12V-2x6 cable is included in case I upgrade to a future PCIe 5.1 card later on. No loose connectors, no weird bends required — and unlike some modular PSUs I’ve dealt with, the ports on the unit are clearly labeled and firmly seated. Performance & Stability: Despite powering a very power-hungry setup, this PSU hasn’t flinched once. The 12900KS, even under boost/load, can be a voltage-hungry CPU, especially paired with the 3090 — but even during max load stress testing (Cinebench + Heaven benchmark running together), rails stayed completely stable, no crashes or brownouts, and no sign of power-related instability. Noise & Efficiency: Corsair nailed the noise levels. During idle and light gaming, the fan doesn't even spin up. Even when it does under load, it’s so quiet it fades into the background of my other case fans. My case has good airflow, but the fan curve on this PSU is genuinely impressive. It’s also Cybenetics Gold rated, and the system draws power very efficiently — I've been monitoring wattage via a smart plug, and it lines up well with published benchmarks for power efficiency. Extras & Future-Proofing: ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 ready 105°C-rated Japanese capacitors (a must for long-term reliability) Modern Standby support works perfectly — fast wake times, zero sleep issues in Windows 11 Final Thoughts: For anyone running a high-end system like mine — especially with power-hungry components like the i9-12900KS and RTX 3090 — this PSU offers peace of mind. No coil whine, no overheating, no second-guessing whether it’s enough. It’s quiet, efficient, and built with headroom for future GPUs thanks to the included 12V-2x6 cable and compliance with the latest standards. Highly recommend if you’re building or upgrading a performance-focused rig and want something that’ll last.

Good PSU!
I haven't run into some of the issues others have for this power supply, but I'm also not an expert user. It works, it's quiet, and the build quality seemed ok to me. It fit in my case easily enough, screws all went in without issues, and the cables feel very nice. It came with screws and some zip ties which were helpful!

Never had an issue with Corsair
I recently built a new computer and decided that my old Corsair RM850X needed to be retired. I chose the PSU because, for me, Corsair has always been a rock solid choice. They are priced competitively and I have never had an issue with power rails or delivery. I used custom cables so the color of the PSU itself wasn't really an issue. The cable length would have been long enough had I used them and they seemed to be high quality material. It's currently powering an AMD ryzen 9 9900x and a 7900xtx with no issues. I have 7 140mm fans, a 420mm aio and lots of RGB and it doesn't skip a beat. It may make me a Corsair fanboy but I will continue using their products until they give me a reason not to.

Quiet, Efficient, and Future-Ready
The CORSAIR RM850e (2025) is everything I wanted in a high-performance PSU. It’s compact, fully modular, and the fan rarely kicks on, and when it does, it's whisper-quiet, exceeded my expectations Installation was smooth, cable management was clean, and the build quality is top-tier It also comes with plenty of cables, if you're looking for performance, silence, and reliability, this PSU delivers grate value

Good psu
It's worked well and it is a very good wattage for very good price. It gets pretty hot but the built-in fan works pretty well. It isn't that noisy either.

When I decided to upgrade my system, one of my priorities was making sure I had a power supply I could completely trust. I’ve had bad experiences in the past with budget PSUs causing coil whine or even random shutdowns, so I didn’t want to take any chances this time. I chose the Corsair RM850e because of the reputation Corsair has for reliability, and because 850 watts seemed like the right balance for a build with a high-end CPU and GPU without overpaying for excess wattage. The install process was smooth. The fully modular cables made cable management so much easier, and the flat black cables blend nicely into my case. Once everything was hooked up, the system booted instantly with no issues. Under load, the PSU is practically silent, most of the time I can’t even tell the fan is running. I’ve stress-tested my PC with gaming sessions that push both the CPU and GPU, and the RM850e hasn’t flinched once. For me, reliability is the number one thing I want from a PSU, and this one gives me total confidence.
