I called Mohawk they said it should not have those marks. They didn’t appear to be the source of the smell, and I still don’t think so. The spots don’t bleed through to the top layer. So it’s much longer than advertised but not quite as wide. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for kids to play on & I can vacuum my thin rug! *by S***H on 15 July 2026* 6 months later and this rug pad has been perfect! We did have to trim the pad down so the edges of our rug were overlapping a few inches over the pad and the rug was flush with the floor. This made the rug look better. The cutting at the factory wasn’t even anyway, so expect to do a little trimming. As for the depth, 3/8 ended up being comfy enough to sit on so that you’re not feeling the hard floor, however I would not describe it as “cushy” or “soft.” It’s still pretty firm. (we have young kids so we spend a lot of time on this rug!) but I also wouldn’t want any larger depth due to the little step it would cause going from the laminate floor to the rug.
