Andalou Naturals Lavender Shea Firming Body Butter, 8 Ounce

A very nice, rich lotion for every day use. Not quite as moisturizing as the Cocoa Butter option available from same manufacturer. Would also prefer a pump bottle rather than the flip top.

I have used this lotion for years, and I am now realizing that I have been fooling myself. It has a rich, smooth, non-greasy feel, and I have applied it liberally all over my body after bathing and frequently throughout the day on my hands. This past winter, my hands got extremely dry, red, and cracked. I applied this lotion constantly throughout the day. My hands felt better after lotioning, but as soon as I washed them, they were so extremely dry again. I was constantly lotioning. I ran out of this lotion and temporarily used some old lotion I had stashed somewhere. My hands completely healed. They were no longer dry after washing, and the redness and cracks were gone. I no longer needed to constantly apply lotion. When my new order of Andalou Naturals came in, I went back to using it. My hands went back to being severely dry, red, and cracked. Again, I was constantly reapplying lotion, attempting to get relief. I decided to stop using my Andalou Naturals lotion. I ordered a different brand, started using it, and my hands were healed and soft again. How have I used this lotion for years and not realized that it wasn’t really doing anything for me? I don’t know, but I am done with it for good. The ingredients seem good, and I do believe it’s a good company. This lotion just doesn’t do anything for moisturizing my skin. Also, I had been putting this lotion on my 4 year old daughter. Her hands also became extremely dry, scaly, red, and cracked. I thought it was strange for someone so young to get such dry hands. Now I wonder if the lotion was CAUSING the extreme dryness.

I know this is a body butter, but it’s lotion to me. lol A friend had me try this and I absolutely love it. I will not use anything else now. You have to watch the price though. It does jump way up. I’ve had it in my cart for over 2 months waiting for it to drop, and it finally did. I was getting it for about 8 or 9 bucks, but I need it so I paid 10 something. No biggie. Absolutely worth it.

It’s moisturizing… but SMELLS SO STRONG! I bought this as a hand lotion to keep at the office, and I kid you not, the guy on the other side of the WALL commented on the smell when I put a pea-sized amount on my hands. I can’t handle the smell myself (lavender shea with primrose). Plus it does leave my hands feeling greasy. It’s going back.
