I am so glad I got this rod and reel. It's perfect for my needs. I mostly fish for bluegill and crappie and this is great for that! I've never used this brand before but I had heard good things about it. You have to assemble it but it's very easy to do. If you have any issues there are tutorials online. Once I got it put together and added my line I gave it a test cast in my yard. It was a smooth cast. Felt like I got better distance with this rod and reel combo than any other brand I've used before. Now, I won't say that I'm a pro, but I've been fishing all my life. I've tried a good variety of rods and reels. This is hands down my favorite. Great ,affordable option for beginners and seasoned fisherman. The rod is sturdy enough to catch what I'm fishing for. It also had good sensitivity and I was able to feel the tiniest nibble. Reeling in was smooth as well. Exceeded my expectations.

The reel is awesome. but after using the combined combo for maybe 16 hours of fishing, the rod snapped. i paired this reel with a Crixus ML rod and I AM IN LOVE now lets talk more about the reel. perfect size and drag and feel. I run 10 pound mono on the reel and this is my in-between reel. i use another KK UL for my finesse fishing (panfish and small bass). But this is PERFECT for chasing down 2-4 pound bass and crappie. for the price its literally unbeatable. i recommend getting the reel separate for like 30 and then the Crixus rod for 50. it'll cost you a little more but its a nasty combo

Love this combo had it for 2 years now not a problem did break off the tip buts that’s because I got it stuck on the door and it still works perfect catch’s bass and perfect hook sets

The reel is very nice smooth however the rod is terrible quality. It broke after about 8 uses. Quick update… someone reached out to me and offered to refund me the money which I thought was spam… I asked if I could just get another rod and that’s what they exactly did. Bonus they sent me 2 tips as well. Customer service went above and beyond and it’s truly appreciated. Back to getting more of their products.

Great equipment for the price.

Well it seemed to be a great rod there for a while. Bought it for my dad for his birthday. Went bass fishing probably 17 to 20 times with it. I will say we fish pretty much every weekend through out most of the year so it held up well to constant use. Until it didnt. My pops hooked into a good sized catfish while running spinners aross the banks and the rod snapped about 12 inches from the tip.(still got the fish in the boat) I still gave 3 stars because it worked great before hand, and rods to break its not anything new. Kastking is a good brand name so maybe we just got a bad one. It does happen. The reel is still excellent and it'll probably go on another rod. Before it broke it was a great rod and reel combo it casts smooth with braided 10 lbs test. Had nice action om it with good bite on the hookset.

I thought this would be a cheap combo to try. I was wrong. it is amazing. this rod is fast action really sensitive and great flex. the real took a little getting used to since I haven't used an open face reel in a long time but after watching some videos on how to set it, so it doesn't backlash so bad I love it. I can cast lures twice as far as my spinning reels. I would de recommend getting a couple to add to your arsenal. I will be getting more for sure.
