## Questions & Answers

**Q: How big is it?**
A: This is a standard Opinel No.8 size and shape: about 4.3" closed, blade length about 3.3", blade steel thickness about 0.07", blade width about 0.65", and handle diameter about 0.7". (The handle of an Opinel is mostly a sculpted, round cylinder machined from a single piece of solid wood.

**Q: Is the handle plain, or does it have "opinel" written on it?**
A: The wooden portion of the handle does not have "opinel" engraved on it, but the stainless steel (on my knife) piece that locks the blade open or closed does have and size of the knife & "Made in France". The blade is the only part of the knife that actually has "Opinel" noted.

**Q: Do these knives come with the Opinel name engraved on the handle, or is it blank?**
A: Not blank, but stenciled on with black paint on top of the clear varnish. I had one 40-50 years ago that had the Opinel name branded into the wood. Don't when they changed.Pat

**Q: The handle of the blade has started to crack, any way of sealing it back and protecting it?**
A: epoxy maybe.
