Freezes to sides in winter. Making it permanent and unable to fold up during cold months. In Fairbanks Alaska this is a problem when we have 6 months a year with snow and ice.

The cover itself is really solid — feels well-built and sturdy, which I appreciate. That said, there are a few things I wish they’d done better. First off, the instructions are kind of confusing when it comes to the seal. They include a foam seal, but depending on your truck, you might not even need it. I put it on my 2022 Ram like the directions said, and it actually created a gap that let water into the bed. Once I took the seal off, no more leaks — so heads up on that. Some instructional videos that are linked on their pages would be helpful. The cover was not hard to figure out just could help explain some of the installation a bit better especially for first time cover installers. The next thing that bugged me was the lever latches. They’re made of hard plastic, and while they work fine for now, I can’t imagine they’ll hold up over time. I’d much rather see aluminum handles — they’d be way more durable and wouldn’t rust. Lastly, the front latches that you have to twist into a lock nut are just annoying. The knob is tiny and hard to grip, so tightening it feels like a chore. Honestly, most of my complaints are about the hardware and how it’s designed. The actual cover is great — tough and well-made. If they upgraded the attachment pieces, this would easily be a five-star product and worth spending a little extra on.

This is not well suited for a RAM 1500. The physical size barely fit in both directions. The latches will not latch closed if there are side bed rails on the inside of the bed (depending which model RAM). The top surface doesn't seem very durable to dents and scratches.
