Excellent earbuds especially for bass heads
I love these so far. I've had them about a week. Pros: Fit well Comfortable Price on sale is great Features Sounds quality is excellent! Tight, clean, punchy and warm bass. Clear, low THD throughout range, mids and high are linear to input with strong bass bias that can easily be configured to your desired listening pleasure through the apps equalizer. Connectivity is great, solid lossless options. Nice, small case Battery life is spectacular Cons: The ANC seems mediocre. I have foam earbud tips coming to help seal the ear which has helped other earbuds I've had really cancel out the sound around me.

A game-changer for me!
Amazing sound! Best I've ever heard from a set of earbuds. I moved up from a cheap pair with no ANC, and the difference in quality is immensely noticeable. I spent WEEKS mulling over which brand and model to buy. I'm a casual audiophile, so I wanted incredible sound while also factoring in comfort, features, battery life, and user reviews. I narrowed down my options to this and the B&W Pi8, which I knew would also be a good choice. The reason I chose this over the Pi8 is use reviews. Nobody complains about the sound quality of the Pi8, but the overall user experience for the AZ100 was higher, so that swayed my decision. Let me tell you, brother, I am more than happy with my choice! Here is what I love about this product: Sound quality: Listening to Ultra HD music with LDAC enabled is a religious experience. I'm listening to some music I've heard a LOT before, but it's an all-new experience for me. It's like falling madly in love with the same person all over again! I prefer stereo mode, but using positional audio with Dolby Atmos and head tracking is a nice option, and I've found it to be really great on certain tracks, especially those specifically designed with 360 audio in mind. Comfort: My old, cheap earbuds were pretty good, for the price, but I had to fiddle with them a lot to get to stay in and feel okay. Once you go through the guide to figure out what size tips to use, these earbuds "lock in" better and feel great. It's like I forget they are even there. The longest I've ever used them so far is two hours straight, and I felt zero discomfort. Noise cancelling: Impressive! I've never experienced ANC before, so I cannot compare it to Sony or other brands, but this is a game-changer for me. I live in a very quiet house in an extremely quiet neighborhood in the middle of nowhere, and I thought ANC would be overkill at home, but I was wrong. It's crazy how much ambient noise there is that you don't even think about. When I turned ANC on at home, I think I audibly gasped! I had never "heard" so much silence before! 😂 When I started listening to music, it was something special, and I knew I had made the right choice to spend good money on a premium product. Customization: The app lets you adjust equalizer settings to your liking, which is a must for me. I know this is standard for premium earbuds, but my last one only had presets, and no matter what I did, the bass was always too much, even with the "Bass reducer" setting. I don't understand the appeal of the power frequencies overpowering everything... but I digress. Beyond the equalizer adjustment, you also have so much control over the noise cancelling settings. When I'm at work, I can not only turn off ANC altogether, but I can adjust how much of the outside world is boosted. I have to be attentive to my coworkers and notifications on my computer, so it's amazing to be able to hear everything so clearly and still be able to hear the music in such amazing detail. I cannot say anything negative about this. $300 is a lot to spend on earbuds, so that may be one aspect of this that some would find as a negative, but this is probably the last set of earbuds I'll buy for a VERY long time, so that's one way I justify the price. The other is that you really get what you pay for here. Multiple professional reviewers list this as the best overall option for 2025, and they have done that with good reason. If you are on the fence like I was, and you can afford the premium price tag, I think you'll be beyond satisfied with your purchase.

Awesome earbuds, and amazing sound
I mostly care about sound quality. These are the best sounding earbuds I've ever had ,although the Senheisser MTW4 are pretty close. The sound is crisp and wide with great beat, I'm not a sound guy but that's how I would describe it. The battery is also good, I don't have issues with them running out of battery, connections also great, no issues even with LDAC activated, noise cancelling is good for me as well as ambient sound. Not sure how they are compared with others as the apple ones. But for me is good enough. The case is also small which is good for transportation, one thing I complained about the Senheisser ones, even though that one looked and feel great, the size not as good. The app is simple and easy to use, I might be missing the custom sound feature from the Senheisser app, but maybe I don't need it.

So Close to Perfect - Ambient Mode is AWESOME
These earbuds are SOOO close to being perfect it drives me crazy. I'm coming from the AZ-80s and most of the features are improved (but not all). Depending on your needs, my issues may or may not be relevant to you so let me break it down for you: Things I Love 1) Transparent Mode & External Mics - these things are AMAZING! They work so good! I was especially impressed when I used them at a concert recently. The measure sound volume at the concert was 100-106db. I poped in the earbuds and set the mode to 14% transparent. The sound was GREAT and the volume level perfect. I tried the same with the AZ-80 but loud environments would override those mics. Not with these. The only time I've had a the external mic flake out is when I was weed-whacking and the string hit some metal siding. Honestly - super impressive! 2) Sound Quality - I have very high standards when it comes to quality SQL. I've used these with many devices including an iBasso DX170 in LDAC mode and my phone. The sound detail is amazing. Hearing things in the music I dont typically hear with a pair of earbuds. Yes, the SQ is really that much better than the AZ-80. 3) Phone Call Quality - Again, compared with the AZ-80, these are WAY better. I regularly take calls in my car and half of the year my convertible top is down. I've been able to have 20min plus conversations at highway speeds with the top down with the other party saying they could barely hear the road noise at all. Well done! Mixed Feelings 1) Size and Shape - while I appreciate the smaller size of the AZ100 earbuds compared to the AZ80, they are a little more difficult to grab. They are more rounded and you have to be a little more intentional about getting a firm grip on them. Once they're in your ears, its a better more streamlined fit but you need to be a little slower and more careful moving them around. 2) Noise Cancellation - when wearing them around home or out on a walk, noise cancellation works great. They seems to have some issues though maintaining the noise cancellation mode on airplanes. I've had the pleasure of testing them on a number of different flights recently and while everything starts off well, after 20-40 mins or so the noise cancelling will start to whoosh out and then back in. It might be something about the white noise of the airplane engines. To fix it, you have to open the app, turn noise cancelling off then back on. I've had this happen more than 25 times on a one hour flight. 2) Battery Life - my fist set of earbuds had a battery drain issue. The left earbud would drain the entire pack just when sitting in the case not being used. Left me with a dead set within less than 24 hours of storage. The set was replaced under warranty and the 2nd set is working as advertised. The warranty process was a little bumpy - more on that below. 3) Warranty - unfortunately I had the opportunity to try out the manufacturer warranty process due to a batter drain issue. Contacting and communicating with support was pretty good - they were responsive and helpful. The only challenge was that the replacement set came back to me in Silver when I returned a set of Black earbuds. When I inquired as to the incorrect color and how I could be sent the same color that had failed, I was pretty much told - too bad. You get what you get. Kind of sucks considering I ordered the color I wanted, they failed in less than 2 months and how I have a functional set ... except for the weird color. A small detail I know but it would have been better if support had notified my first rather than surprising me and then denying my request for the right color. I hope you mileage will vary. Things I Don't Love 1) App Responsiveness & Reliability - in general the App works well once its open and successfully connected. Unfortunately I've had way too many times where the app cannot find the earbuds even when I'm playing music through them and Bluetooth shows connected. I just kill the App and restart but its really flaky. Even the initial load and connection of the app takes annoying longer than I'd like - especially when I'm only trying to change the transparency level or some other basic setting. 2) Touch Responsiveness - switching the earbuds on/off when I'm at home or in a setting where I need to hear a PA announcement (ie. airport) seems to take a little while to register. I know I'm being a little picky but earbuds block you out of the world around you. It should be quick and easy to return your focus to the world around you as needed. Just takes a but longer to register the press and mute the earbuds than is helpful. Many times the announcement was over or I would have missed most of the question by the time I got the earbuds muted. Could be quicker/easier.

Outstanding Call Quality — Even in Noisy Environments
These Technics Hi-Fi wireless earbuds are fantastic, especially for calls. The noise-canceling technology does an excellent job of silencing background noise, making my voice come through clearly even in busy or loud environments. Sound quality is crisp and balanced, and the earbuds are comfortable to wear for extended periods. Connectivity has been reliable, and they feel well-built and premium. If you take calls on the go and need earbuds that truly reduce background noise, these are an excellent choice. Highly recommend.

Earbuds so good I had to put a review
For reference, I had a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 4 True Wireless Earbuds for months, so I have a pretty good reference point to draw upon for the reasons why I love these earbuds so much. I will be comparing the two because the class they're in is pretty much the same, and it's also my only pair I can draw a reference from :P - Comfort & Stability The ear tips are by no means flimsy and are stuck on almost stubbornly, which is a great thing. Taking off the MW4 earbuds and wiping down the ear tips always runs the risk of the ear tips falling off due to how loosely they are affixed to the earbuds. Not these. They're very stable, very comfortable, and easy to use. - Functionality and Practicality The casing is small and very practical. While the build quality isn't utterly insane and not made of felt like the MW4 earbuds are, it's compact, and that matters a lot, because without that practicality and form factor, why even lay the premium for earbuds such as these? - Battery life This is by far my biggest selling point personally coming off of MW4 earbuds with regular daily usage. I love to leave earbuds in for extended periods of time to listen to music and tune out the world, doing my own thing, you know? These are the best in its class because of this. Not even the Pi8 Bower and Wilkins earbuds have as much battery life as these, and for a normal, regular, 8 hour shift five days a week? Yeah, it's no contest. I love these things. - Ease of use and App functionality Oh my goodness. The app. Mwah! I don't have to fiddle with sound profiles as needlessly as I do with the MW4, having to constantly tweak it depending on what I want out of my music. Hit the EQ tab, press on "Dynamic", and bam. Audio so damn clear that not even the MW4 Sennheiser signature sound can compete. AN UTTER WIN!

Early Impressions Unboxing, Quality, Setup, Sound
Update: I decided to return these headphones and lower the rating for two reason: 1. Comfort: Anything longer than 30 minutes hurts my ears, regardless of the tip size I use. This was the deal breaker for me and the star deduction. 2. I had challenges connecting multiple devices. Eg, it would connect with my iPhone but not Mac. Multipoint would not work for me, and yes, I followed the directions. Still better sounding than my APP2, but if I can’t tolerate wearing them, and they don’t seamlessly work, then I can’t justify the expense. I'm coming from Airpods Pro Gen 2 as a point of reference. These are my second pair of airpods, but with no significant update in a few years, I wanted to try something new. These AZ100 arrived today and I excitedly got to checking them out with a comparison to APP2 in my mind. Packaging: I'll say Technics went eco friendly in this packaging. A thin card stock wrapper, black cardstock box, and a THICK manual the size of a matchbox inside. Contents: Ear tips of four sizes from XS to L; The THICK manual, some other misc paperwork, the headphones case wrapped in paper Physical Quality: To be honest, the case feels cheap. The whole case is a lightweight plastic. It doesn't have the solid feel of the APP2 case, and the hinge is plastic with maybe a metal pin, unlike the metal Apple hinge. The AZ100 buds feel nice, and well made. Not heavy, and feels like better quality than the case for sure. Case Size/Weight: Being able to hold these side by side, the APP2 are taller and narrower, but less wide than the AZ100. Both are fairly svelte compared to other chonky cases (looking at you Beats) out there. Still very pocketable. I haven't weighed them, but my hand scales say they are close in perceived weight to be the same in my hand or pocket. Sound: Subjectively, I think these sound better for music specifically compared to the APP2. Granted, I'm no earbud audiophile, but the APP2 are some of the best sounding buds I've ever used; so frame your assumptions based on that. How much better? Well, in my guesstimate: 15-20% better. I really like the sound of these for music. I will say that noise cancellation and "Ambient" mode (their Transparency equivalent) are not as good as Apple's. And this is by a decent margin. Apple's transparency and noise cancellation are kind of magical. The AZ100's have a pretty good noise cancellation capability that is tunable in the app, which is cool; however the transparency (also tunable) isn't as...slick. It's hard to describe. Fit: I use the Medium tips for APP2, and have the Medium in these AZ100's. And...they're not as comfortable. I'm about to go on a flight across the world and will bring both. I can wear APP2's until they die without pain or fatigue. These AZ100 get a bit uncomfortable after a short time, but perhaps they need a break in. Call quality: TBD. Not gonna bug my wife to test call quality and have to explain why I needed another pair of earbuds. I'm not quite sure these are worth the premium right now compared to APP2, and especially considering the price difference. I plan to put them through the paces on this trip for a week and see if they are keepers.

One of the best earbuds in this price range
I never even considered Technics brand when I was shopping for a new pair of noise canceling earbuds. After reading many reviews and consulting with Gemini extensively, I purchased this item with "some" hesitation. In any case, I really like the product and I will definitely keep them. * It sounds very smooth, providing almost audiophile level sound. No harshness at all. * High frequency is a bit subdued; I had to adjust the EQ (via app on my phone) quite a bit. * Low frequency is prominent; no need to adjust the EQ for bass and drums. * It is very comfortable to wear. I wore it through a long flight to Asia, and I never felt any discomfort. * Noise canceling is effective, but I could still hear some airplane noise. I could still hear the music clearly though. * Accompanying app is equipped with a graphic equalizer, which is much more effective than other brands' apps I've tried. * Battery lasts for a long time; enough for intercontinental flights. * The unit is considerably smaller than my other earbuds such as Bang & Olufsen. I think this is one of the best options in this price range.
