Purchased to connect my monitor aux out to a sound bar with optical in. Works a treat. Sound quality is good. Would recommend.

Does the job.Comes with all the items pictured.My tv is an old tv lacking HDMI arc and optic output. It did have RCA. So I got this unit.Here's a few bits:1) The unit will need to be powered to work using the usb. Its a micro usb cable. the cable in the box was long enough to connect to the tv USB port. If your tv or sound source doesn't have a free usb port, you might need a longer cable.2) unit is made of plastic so it's nice and light also compact. You could attach it to the sound source with a bit of double sided tape. I just tucked it behind my sound bar.3) optic cable supplied is nice, not too long and not too short.4) there's no input cables. you will need your own rca cables or 3.5mm male jack cable.5) unit doesn't allow you to change the volume, that's handled by the output and input equipment.6) I haven't tried it with both RCA and a 3.5mm male jack in the input side to see if there's interference.7) I haven't noticed any sound issues by using this unit, there's no hum from the sound bar when sound is coming through the unit.

OK as a cheap a/d solution. Not a hi-fi component, but then it’s not the price of a hi-fi component.

I have a large selection of favourite CD tracks on an MP3 player which I wanted to feed onto a Yamaha sound bar which has optical inputs. The output of the MP3 is stereo 3.5mm jack. This unit came with an optical connector cable and a usb power cable so all I needed to add was the 3.5mm male to male jack cable from the MP3 player. Very straightforward and the sound quality is amazing. Best thing I've bought for ages.

Nice cheap A-D convertor. handy it works from 5V too, so plugged into a USB charger. I have now 3 of them as they are good. only a minor bit of noise (probably around -60db) and likely due to the PSU. I use the spdif output to go into an AES input on a mixing desk via a short made up cable. Works great.

The reason why I give this one star, is because he’s not doing what it’s supposed to be doing, I have plugged this into my laptop, the headphones out into that unit, and the optical out into my amp, and it doesn’t work at all, so when I get the chance I’m going to try the coaxial out, and see if that will make a difference

I’ve used this device to port audio via the headphone port on my Mac to my valve amp. Works perfectly. One tip. Power off the USB on the Mac not a peripheral such as a monitor or a hub. This eliminated any noise which the power lead can pick up.
