Super Cool Truck At A Great Pricepoint
This is a solid, old-school fun RC truck that feels more “hobby-grade” than something you’d hand to a kid and expect to replace in a week. The 4WD actually matters here. This truck climbs, it climbs over grass, gravel, dirt and uneven pavement without getting stuck or stalling out. It’s fast enough to be exciting but not so twitchy that it’s constantly flipping itself over. Steering is responsive, and the suspension does real work instead of just being decorative. The LED headlights are bright and functional and evening or low-light driving is totally doable, which extends the fun instead of cutting it short when the sun goes down. Battery life is reasonable for this size and power and it charges without drama. It’s easy enough for kids to control, but not boring for adults. It feels cohesive in design and build, not slapped together, which is marvelous at this price point. If you want an RC truck that can take hits, handle real terrain and deliver straight-up fun without babysitting it, this one earns its keep. No gimmicks, just a capable little beast....definitely five stars!!!

Super fast remote control car with great handling and adjustability.
This is an awesome little remote control truck that will be great fun for anyone who uses it. (Would suggest adult supervision with children, though, due to the speeds and the practice that's required to get used to the controller.) PACKAGING - 5/5 The car comes in a nice box that has a handy little slot to pull out the internal box holding the car and remote. I am re-gifting this as a Christmas present, so the easy opening of the box makes it really easy to re-package! DESIGN - 5/5 The car comes with a plastic cover that is what the body of the truck appears to be in the pictures. It has two such plastic covers, a red and green one, so you can interchange them at will. They are held onto the body of the car with 4 metal pins. Comes with two batteries, one already installed in the car and one by itself, and a charger that you can plug into any USB A charging port (like what comes with most smartphone charging bricks) and charge up the batteries. They probably take under an hour to charge—likely closer to 30 minutes, although I wasn't timing it super closely. The car itself underneath the plastic cover is pretty barebones, but the cover gives it sufficient protection for flips and stuff. It has the motor, battery, frame, wheels, shocks, and power plug. The package also comes with a few replacement parts for various components. FYI: The remote control itself requires 2 AA batteries to operate. Make sure you have those. PERFORMANCE - 4.5/5 This car is FAST. 40km/h is about 24 miles per hour, so that's a zippy little car. One thing I found very impressive was that this car excels in rough terrains. I haven't used many RC cars that are able to do well in the grass and large piles of leaves, but this car performed fantastically. It was able to get itself through grass and leaves at pretty high speeds. And when it was on pavement it was even faster. Handling is also really nice. The wheel you use to steer the car is quite sensitive, which means it responds pretty instantly to left and right turns. This can cause some flipping of the car if you turn while driving too fast, so pay attention to that, but if you're careful it's easy to stay upright. And the car usually does a good job of landing on its wheels if it does flip over. I guess that's due to good weight balancing. The controller took some practice to get used to, so just a heads up. It works fine once you know how to use it, so here's my summary: A) Once you turn the throttle nozzle up, the car is basically in "Drive." Just like if you put a real car into Drive, but didn't push the gas, the car would still begin moving at a very slow but steady pace, this RC car does the same thing. It will move forward without pushing the trigger on the remote that otherwise controls acceleration. B) To go forward at top speed, pull the trigger back (toward you). C) To reverse at low speed, push the trigger forward twice (this may take a couple tries). D) To brake, push the trigger forward and hold it down. This car is super fun to use and if you mounted a small phone camera on it, it would probably be a pretty neat view to record with. I'm sure you'll enjoy this as much as I did! Fun for all ages.

Great performer for the size and price - perfect for younger kids
This is really great! My son loves it, and he has driven full-sized adult ones and is an avid gear head. There are others that look similar. We bought one that was like this and green so we could play together and have the same size. It was in fact the same speed. It seemed to be the same with a different body, and that’s perfect. I like that it has lights on the front. My adult one doesn’t have that! The speed is good. It’s really great because it’s fast enough to be fun, but not too fast where it will break itself when it’s bumps into anything. My son is 8 and puts it through its paces. A 9 year old that has never used one used it and wasn’t careful but didn’t hurt it at all with all of the bumps and flips. My little 3 year old niece just tried it out and ran it at full speed into some things and it just bounces back, no problem! The body actually comes with a plastic covering on it. It’s like the cover that comes on electronics that is “so satisfying” to remove. I actually left it on on purpose to protect it for a while. The cover is starting to wear, but the body underneath in those spots is perfect! I’ll leave it on until it really starts coming off. And my son will love taking it off because it is “so satisfying!” It’s really awesome that these come with two batteries. But also two chargers! And they are USB, so you can plug it in in your car to charge too! And you can toss the spares in your pocket when you go to the park. I don’t know the exact runtime, but it’s decent. Not forever, but with the two batteries, it’s plenty. You can’t really make them significantly bigger with this size. I like that is comes with lots of spare parts! The only spare part that I have had to use since we have played with it a lot over the past couple of weeks were the body clips. I found that with us being so rough, they can come out when the cotter pins are pushed to the normal “halfway” point. I found if you push them on extra, they will not come off. And I just run with two at opposite corners because it is plenty and it makes it a little harder to take off. I use my nails pushing on it and it’s not bad, just took me a minute to figure out the right way. You can see how I have them in the top down picture. I would recommend this and I already have. I think my niece might get one, and if she doesn’t, I just may buy her one for her birthday or Christmas! Your child will enjoy this and you will too!

A good buy for the money
Bought this for my dogs to chase. Works great on hard uneven surfaces, not to good on thick grass. Battery life was adequate to start but seems to lose some life after the 3rd or 4th charge. Very durable. Very fast!

Fun car for a Fair price
A little background on me. I have been into RC cars for nearly 40 years, I have had just about every grade, style level and type of RC I can think of. Price was never really a concern for me, and what i mean by that is if it was exspensive i would wait and buy it when i could, if it was in exspensive i would buy it if it looked like a solid vehicle. This has lead me to alot of little gems. Today is no different, this little car is a gem. So what do you get: well you get 2 lipo batteries, they are the 2/3 AA cells with a steel case inside of hear shrink. The batteries are rated at 1200 mah and that feels about right. Since they are lipo they are fun until the last moment, when the low power kicks in and shuts the truck off. This is for the longevity of the batteries, and not a bad thing. The low power seems to kick in around 3 volts per cell which is a good spot for longevity. The battery charger provided is powered by a standard USB A adapter, i would recommend using at least a 1.2 amp power brick to charge from. The power brick is not included, but if you have a cell phone I am certain you have one of these laying about. I would not recommend charging the batteries off your computer, as the power consumption would likely be too much for these ports. the vehicle also comes with a bag of spare parts which is something i don't usually see at this or even much high price points. I like to see this, and the parts it comes with are the typical ones you would break in normal use. Such as the spur gear, a shock, CVD's (yeah i was kinda surprised to see cvd's at this level) and a screw driver to change the parts out. Not included is 2 AA batteries for the controller. Let go play: So charging takes about 20-30 minutes with a decent charger, Saomsung phone charger 2.4 amps. but be warned if you use a smaller charger it can take much longer. I do not think a larger charger would make the charge happen more quickly. Hooking up the battery is pretty easy and there is much that can go wrng there, the port is keyed so no reverse hook up worries. The power button to turn on the controller was a little odd to me. you have to press and hold it for some time until the light comes on, (always power up your controllrer first and car second to prevent run-away's) so be a little parient when you think it should be on hold it a bit longer. To be honest this isn't a bad thing since you don't want the controller to turn on and kill your batteries when you are transporting it. The vehicle has a similar red push to turn on button, it turns on more quickly. You will know it's on when the headlights are lit. The controller is comfortable and the controls are quite good, i have had some very numb controls before on vehicles but this one seems pretty solid. The digital proportoinal steering was accurrate and quick, the throttle control was nice and smooth over all no suprises here, it's just what you would expect. Performance: This little thing skoots, power is dished out to the 4wd which does an excellent job putting down the power from the little 380 brushed motor. The car gets up to speed quickly on pavement or grass, and while I wouldn't consider the top speed blistering it is more than adequate to be fun. To be honest any faster and the chasis and suspension wouldn't handle the power well and it would be (believe it or not) less fun. The balance of speed, acceleration is spot on for this scale and level vehicle. The tires have enough grip to be fun but not so much that it traction rolls, and the suspension does a admirable job of soaking up bumps and keeping the truck stable. One area that lets the truck down is the friction shocks, they are not a deal breaker as they work very well and the truck is sprung almost perfectly, but the lack of dampening makes it a little bumpy, this caused the largest number of rollovers. The steering was very solid and servo has enough speed and power to keep you in control and overall the driving experince is good for a beginer taking their first step into a hobby grabe car to some one who is seasoned. This truck would be fun. One thing to consider is this is a smaller vehicle 1:18th scal, so it's blast in a small to moderate size area, my test area is 25x60 has thin grass, tree roots and some concrete walkway as you can see in the video. Durability: We didn't go out to test how durable the vehicle is, we didn't intend to crash it or try to break it, and we didn't!!!! The truck is all plastic, but varying types, the frame is pretty stiff and should be to keep all those spinny bits aligned. The control arms are soft and flexible which is what you want, rigid parts are brittle so in an impact they break, this is not the case here. We bounced off a tree, bottomed it out a bunch of times on the a piece of cement on the walkway, and jumped it off some tree roots. Nothing broke, infact there were minimal scratches. We did this for about 4 batteries so an hour or so, and not a thing gave up. Not too bad for a truck in this price range. I will say the motor gets hot, and i woudl recommend a short break 5 or so minutes between packs, but we also ran it nearly flat out for the entire pack in grass, and the temps were right on par with my other 1:18 trucks. Minor things i would like to see improved: I would have loved to see oil shocks and a longer stroke on the shocks. I'm sure there are after market ones that can be used, but i would not swap the springs, they are perfect. I also would have liked to seen a way to adjust the suspensoin, the front wheels had a bit of a toe in, while it didn't really seem to affect the driving characteristcs it was noticeable. But thats about it, and really i've had similar complaints on cars 2 or 3 times this price range. So again overall Not too bad! Upgradability: So this is a gateway hobby grade vehicle, it can be upgraded, it uses a fairly standard motor, servo 2 in 1 esc, the shocks are nearly identical to ones found on other small vehicles. There are parts that are non-standard but over all this vehicle leaves room to tinker, and it's cost effective enough if you make an error it is possible to replace it. All very good points. Final thoughts: I love this little truck and aparently so does my son, since he has claimed it. This vehicle is priced directly in the realm of toy grade throw aways which if you break something you are out a car, infact i have seem many of those more exspensive than this truck, and very ferw of thsoe would be nearly as capable of an RC car. I keep saying it this vehicle is fun, and it's an excellent starting point for beginers. It's robust enough to take a bit of the abuse that newer drivers would dish out, and yet close enough to a hobby grade to teach good habits and responsability, all in a package that is reachable by most. I think there will be a second one of these little guys gracing a shelf in my collection soon ( the first is already been claimed as i said before :)

Great lil RC Truck, Till It Isn't... (Updated review six days after purchase)
I bought this to play with my seven month old pitbull terrier and I, and just received it today. The instructions say to break the motor in driving it on smooth surfaces for one charge cycle of a battery so I drove it around in my small house at first to do so. Once that was out of the way and I took it outside and turned the throttle trim on the controller all the way up, the fun REALLY began! I have a large gravel driveway and a lot of trees in my front yard (so lots of leaves), and very little grass in my front yard (it's mostly moss and crab grass). This lil truck was literally kicking up dust in my yard, and watching my puppy bark at it and run from it was hilarious! The only reasons for giving it four stars and not five: 1, It's a little smaller than I expected. 2, Having to pull four pins out and remove the body in order to change the battery is a bit aggravating. 3, Sure. It comes with two batteries, but they don't charge in the twenty minutes of drive time you get out of one battery charge. 4, The power button for the truck is inside the body. Accessing it isn't too bad, but I had to use a red paint pen to place a dot on the underside of the truck so I could locate it faster. 5, The plastic the body is made from is super thin, but it may be more durable than it appears. 6, This thing has a tendency to flip over on it's back at full speed. I'd say 50/50 on the times it recovers on it's own and the times you have to walk to it and flip it back over yourself. 7, For the size, it's a bit pricey. 8, It should have came with two chargers. The batteries take forever to recharge! All that being said, overall this is a fast, fun lil RC Truck! It being four wheel drive allows for it to climb up areas you may think would present a bigger challenge as well! (My dog's bed, and the side of my concrete sidewalk for example.) Wish the run time/play time was longer, but I'm happy overall. *UPDATE* I've only owned this truck six days, and only played with it five of those six days. Four days play through both batteries, and today only one before I noticed one of the wheels wasn't engaging. It went from being a four wheel drive to a three wheel drive. I have contacted Amazon customer support and a refund has been started. I'll be dropping this truck off to the UPS store tomorrow, and using the refunded money to buy a better rig.

Fantastic rc and a great gift
This toy is fantastic! It’s loved by everyone, and as a gearhead who has driven full-sized adult versions, it’s a great choice. We also purchased a similar green model so we could play together at the same size, and it matches in speed. It feels like the same toy with a different design, which is perfect. I appreciate the front lights; my adult version doesn’t have those! The speed is just right—fast enough to be exciting but not so fast that it breaks when it hits something. It really holds up well during rough play. Even when it’s pushed to its limits, it bounces back without any issues! The body comes with a plastic cover, similar to the satisfying peel-off covers on electronics. I intentionally left it on to protect the toy for a while. Although the cover is starting to wear, the body underneath is still in great shape. I plan to keep it on until it starts to come off completely, and it will be satisfying to peel it off! It's great that it includes two batteries and two USB chargers, allowing you to charge it in your car. You can easily carry the spare batteries in your pocket when going to the park. While I’m not sure about the exact runtime, it’s decent—enough for fun without being too long, given the size. I also like that it comes with many spare parts! The only spare part I've had to use after a lot of playtime over the past few weeks is the body clips. They can pop out if the cotter pins are pushed to the halfway point, but if you push them on fully, they stay put. I use two clips at opposite corners, which is sufficient and makes it a bit harder to remove. It took me a moment to figure out the best way to do this, but it’s manageable. I highly recommend this toy and have already suggested it to others. This toy will be enjoyed by everyone!

Fast RC car, great value!
I was a bit skeptical about this rc car mainly due to the price. Some of my friends have "real" rc cars that cost a lot more. This one is definitely smaller but works well for an ~8 yr old child. Big box stores sell rc cars too that are slightly cheaper than this one but way lower quality. Only time will tell how durable this rc car is but so far it has held up well for the past two weeks. I will update the review if I feel the durability is not good. The build quality seems ok, there are a lot of plastic parts and again it's hard to say how long this will last. There is a box of spare parts included so I imagine this must mean that stuff is expected to break. I appreciate the inclusion of these parts so I can attempt to fix the car versus having to throw it away. The lights on the front are a nice touch. Children in general are not the most careful with toys and especially with speed of this car, crashes are inevitable. But so far it has held up well. Yes, the box does say 14+ but it can be suitable for a younger child that is mechanically inclined especially if you turn down the speed to half. It is still plenty fast at half speed honestly. The manual also states a 20 minute run time per battery which will easily be exceeded if the speed is limited. The motor is less likely to overheat also if operated at lower speeds. A younger child will definitely need help removing the body to access and change the battery. I've noticed that sometimes the remote and car don't sync up right away though the manually says once paired the connection should be seamless. No big deal though. I do like that the battery charges over USB, no need for a special wall charger. I also appreciate that the battery uses an iron based chemistry so it is less volatile and will not fail catastrophically into a ball of flames. There are two batteries included too which provide plenty of run time. The manual does state that the battery should be disconnected from the car when not in use and there are also tags on the wiring to remind you of this. I imagine that the battery could drain and become damaged if left connected to the car. From my understanding this is true for other rc cars powered with lithium batteries. Overall for the price this "real" rc car is a great value for kids/teens.
