This rain chain looks nice, but is very flimsy. It was supposed to be 12', but is only 10'. I should have returned it then, but decided to make do with the shorter length. Now, with winter approaching, the first time we had freezing temperatures, the entire chain self destructed into 10 separate pieces under the weight of the ice. A total waste of money!!

Rain chains are so much better looking than downspouts. Like jewelry for your house.

I LOVE this rain chain. We recently had to have our roof replaced. The company very thoughtfully placed barriers to redirect water to either side of steps - however, this cause huge holes to develop in my flower beds. We ended up installing a French drain in the primary bed and hanging this rain chain down into a tall planter that sits over the primary drain. It does a great job and is beautiful. I love the painted patina appearance also.

This umbrella-shaped rain chain is a cute addition to our front gutter. We opted for the rain chain to avoid installing a downspout that wouldn't look as attractive. We've only had one decent rain since installing, but it appears to be doing its job. It splashes a little more than we'd like from the top umbrella, and the rainwater doesn't always travel straight down the chain. But it's an attractive option to divert water away from the house. It is nearly noiseless, though we also haven't yet had significant wind.
