Its good quality. Just make sure that you read all the instructions and they have an excellent book about SWR on there website I would recommend reading and understanding as well.

Took some tuning but I got it to an SWR of 1-1.1 on channel 40 and 1-1.3 on channel 1..I learned NOT to use an external SWR on testing with this as the SWR came in way high.. thinking the coax being proprietary had something to do with that. After removing external SWR meter things got normal.. I used my Galaxy 929 CB's internal SWR meter..This was installed on the end of my mobile home (see pic).. No place for a ground plane or big 'base' antenna, so I tried this.. I am happy.

It was easy to set the swr's (once I looked up how to do it!) READ the instructions and DO NOT CUT or trim the coax. The length of the coax is already "tuned" with the Firestik at the factory. The Firestik came with a Stainless Steel mounting bracket That I used along with an extension bracket I custom made from 1/4" thick angle iron and 1/4" flat bar. It attaches to the underside of the bed between the cab. It is also clamped to the top of the cab where the sheet metal is formed down behind the cab (a 1" gap). Not much room but I was not ready to drill ANY holes in my new truck! The truck bed cover is also not in the way either. The Firestik looks great on my truck and I am ready for the road!

Nice efficient top loaded design.Easy to install and adjust.Can't quite get it flat across the band but it is near 1:1 in the middle and and at it's worst on the lower and upper ends of the band it's still below 2:1 while being stuck on back of my campers ladder with a little more than 2/3rds of it sticking up above the roof line. (not exactly the best location for any antenna, but, it's the only place I can put it without drilling holes in the camper and still keeping it under 13' off the ground)It has good receive and transmit characteristics I was making contacts with legal power 35 miles away with no trouble at all. The top loading really helps this antenna radiate. A good compromise when you don't have a ground plane or if due to height considerations you can't run a whip.Just one note: follow the instructions carefully the coax shield cannot be grounded at the antenna end to anything! The coax has a matching loop at the transmitter end and will only work with this antenna. You can add length if you need to from the transmitter to the match end of the special coax if needed but don't cut the supplied coax it will ruin it. Also the supplied center conductor crimp terminal is kinda wimpy and the reason the kit only got 4 stars instead of 5. I replaced it with one that was heavier during install.Also I strongly recommend sealing the feed point with good rtv sealant after confirming proper installation to keep out moisture. At first I didn't because it was a hot dry month when I put it in but, a sudden unexpected thunder storm caused the SWR to increase significantly and it didn't go down until it dried out days latter. Now that it's sealed it works perfectly wet or dry.

Easy to tune.

Works as described. the no ground plane is awesome.

I put this CB antenna on my 387 Peterbilt truck. Mounted it on the grab bar on the driver side by the door. Was kinda hesitant on how it would work. Other antennas I used didn't work very well because there is no ground plane because the cab is all fiberglass. But this CB antenna worked fantastic. Got less than .5 SWR. According to my Cobra CB. Every one said I sounded loud and clear.

This complete antenna system sets up really quick and is easy and fast to fine tune!
