Ignore that california label. I really don't think it causes cancer.
even though it has the birth defects warning in california label (I've seen lots of seaweed have that label for california, so I'm not even concerned anymore), it's really good. Good price, good taste, and tastes like perfectly good wakame. I did some research on that california label, and apparently california has some stupid law that ends up scaring people more than helping them. Supposedly certain types of seaweed (hijiki) have higher levels of arsenic, but this doesn't apply to wakame. However, I think that the manufacturers just slap the label on this seaweed because they don't want any trouble with the law. Really a shame.

This contains lead,cadmium, chemicals
I got this thinking I was getting something healthy. Found out it was from China and It has lead cadmium, Arsenic, Cadmium right on the package. I am discussed with our nation to feed us food like this. I want my money back. Lead in Seaweed and Seafood Products. In 2019, plaintiff groups issued over three dozen Prop. 65 Notices for cadmium in seaweed and various dietary supplements. In January 2020 alone, plaintiffs issued 14 Notices for various seaweed and seafood products including dried seaweed, dried shrimp, dried anchovies, and canned squid. These Notices alleged that seaweed and seafood contain arsenic, cadmium and/or lead (and related compounds) and therefore require a Prop. 65 warning. I want my money back and you can sent this to WHO and the government.

Little Goes a Long Way!
First time, finally, buying this type of sea weed. It looks a bit like loose-leave green tea. Try putting only about 1 heaping tablespoons in your 1-2 serving miso (for example). The pieces hydrate and expand quickly. They aren't crazy thick or paper thin either. A satisfying chew for soups. Very clean and delicate taste!

It's tricky to find in my area so I was glad to see it here. It arrived quickly and is a good quality product, nice and clean. I find it delicious.
