These did not work when I received them. I then realized one of the internal glass pieces on one was not connected to the silver liquid. The other one I used and the silver liquid got stuck in one position. I shook the thermometer per instructions and nothing worked no matter how hard shaken. I then tried in ice water and no change. I contacted customer service they sent me a label which I used but the item was returned to me after a long time in the mail as seller does not cover return shipping. So if anything goes wrong with this item INCLUDING BROKEN AND FAULTY PRODUCT YOU WILL PAY! After return window has passed I contacted customer service to let them know and all they said was "the return window for this item has passed"....no kidding. TERRIBLE PRODUCT AND TERRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT BUY.

It's hard to find a non digital thermometer these days. The digitals I have founds are not accurate, so what's the point in checking your temperature if it won't give you an accurate reading anyhow? Not sure why there have been a bunch of negative reviews, maybe cuz they're not sure how to use a non digital one. This is a simple, straightforward thermometer. Stick it, close your mouth, count 5 minutes (yes, I know it sounds like FOREVER!), and then read the number where the line goes up to. May everyone stay nice and healthy!

One of the two thermometers was broken internally, with loose parts and spilled metallic liquid inside. The working one takes a couple *minutes* of vigorous shaking to reset, then 3 to 5 *additional* minutes to get a reading. So get ready for a long wait. You can only spot the line at an incredibly precise angle. And the instructions are terribly written, something a 5 minute ChatGPT session could have fixed. UPDATE: the working one is now broken (after 1 use); permanently reads 96 deg, no amount of shaking "resets" it and 5 minutes under the tongue doesn't increase it.
