Only caveat I will say is they don't have a hinge on the ankle so the movability is somewhat limited. Given the price tag an ankle hinge is not expected IMO. Review: If you're just starting out and don't want to break the bank on a set of boots, start with these. We don't race motocross, but we do ride dirtbikes pretty hard on sandy/bumpy trails. The size runs kind of small; I wear a 10 1/2 to 11 and my son wears a 12. I ordered a size 12 and the boots fit me perfectly and just a little tight on my son. They are easier to walk in than my Fox Racing boots, there is more flexibility in the ankle, but not so much I'm worried about its safety. They are thick and padded well without being too bulky.
