JINHAO Fine Nib Fountain Pen with Ink Cartridges & Converter, Perfect Weight, Optimal Flow, No Skipping

I've never had the chance to use a fountain pen, so experience may vary. I already LOVE this pen after ordering one out of curiosity. I always wanted to try a fountain pen, because I love using really fine point pens, so I bought one. The way it writes compared to anything else feels so nice against the paper, and the fine point but thick lines is something I could only ever have dreamed of. It handles faster strokes quite well, although you will need to be holding it at a particular angle, given its design. It has a nice heft to it for being made entirely out of metal, which makes it feel good in the hand. The actual kit it comes with is quite nice, too. You get 10 ink cartridges total (5 black and blue), and a conversion kit if you'd rather have an ink dipped pen instead. I personally wouldn't have a need for the small pouch, but it's a nice touch to make the whole thing feel a little more fancy. This is a REALLY nice pen. If you're someone who loves needle point pens, but want thick lines like a ballpoint, this is it. It's cheap in price, but it feels like you'll have spent 5x as much. Definitely gift material for anyone.

This is my first fountain pen experience. The Jinhao model 88? fine tip fountain pen is durable all metal and comes with 5 black and 5 blue ink cartridges. In addition there is a converter for bottled ink and a slip cover for storage. The value here is hard to beat. IMO, this is a good starter kit and a good everyday pen for both new and experienced fountain pen users alike. The pen is smooth, easy to use and the ink flows well and drys quickly with the exception of coated paper. The style of the pen is understated yet attractive. I think Jinhao makes a blue and red variant though I don't know if it includes the extras. Highly recommended especially for beginners.

This pen is usually my daily carry. I own a Mont Blanc, a few Cross pens, several Parkers and Sheaffers. Of all of my 18 pens, this one sees the most time writing. The ink is a rich dark black and I actually have the cartridges in other pens. The nib is very smooth and the ink flows easily. This is a great quality pen. After buying this one, I will be purchasing other Jinhao pens.

This pen is a great value for the price. I have been using it for about a year and have no complaints. It writes smooth and has never skipped or had a hard start. The grip is comfortable if you prefer a thinner pen. It's thicker than a standard pencil but thinner than a Pilot G-2. I have fountain pens from this and other manufacturers, but I keep coming back to this pen as my daily carry.

Great pen, nice hard all metal body, zero leakage and soft felt case. Only complaints are that it feels a little bit short, especially for bigger hands, and that it smudges for a lefty. Of course that's unavoidable for a fountain pen. Love how many refills it has, and the converter pump is awesome.
