Sleeping better
I've navigated sleep disturbances for over a dozen years. Initially, the broken sleep was due to inflammation caused by a severe allergic reaction to fluoroquinolone antibiotics (cipro, levaquin), which led to a hyper-reactivity to all kinds of foods and all additives/preservatives etc. It's hard to test, but it's likely that I developed MCAS. I cleared a ton of inflammation through diet (very clean keto), but not before perimenopause settled in. It was obvious that hormones were a major factor as my sleep was consistently worse Cycle Day 11, 12, 13 (ovulation) and Cycle Days 21-28. My cycle also shortened from 28 to approx. 26 days for about a year. I noticed spotting a week after my flow and around ovulation. I started getting flashes at night that woke me up. Then, for two cycles in a row, I had night sweats on CD 25-28. After consulting a few health care practitioners and ordering a few labs, I learned that my FSH levels were not peri or even menopausal but postmenopausal! Because I do not tolerate Chinese herbal formulas, black cohosh, soy isoflavones, and because tofu seemed to help a bit (even though its high histamine and a histamine liberator), I decided to try this estrogen cream. I wanted something that was as natural as possible, with minimal ingredients, no scent, and that bypassed the digestive system. I chose the purple over the pink bottle, bc the purple has no parabens etc. The good news: After a few days of applying the cream to my wrists and abdomen once per day in the morning (as recommended), the hot flashes went away and my sleep has improved. I went from being awake 1-3 hours per night to 15-45 minutes. I'll take it! I'll update this review after I've walked through a few cycles with this cream. Because my symptoms seem to alternate intensity every other month, it's likely that one ovary has few to no follicle reserves, while my other ovary still has some mojo. I mention that because my current cycle may be easier in part because my body has more estrogen already circulating due to the more robust ovary. As per some more research, at Cycle Day 14, I added a few drops of a progesterone cream in the evening. The first night was great and i slept 9.5 hrs (!), but then, after the 3rd night, I had difficulty falling asleep, I woke for about an hour, I noticed cramping and some blood in with the ovulation fluid, plus my breasts were sore and distended. So! It appears that i'm very sensitive to even trace amounts of progesterone, since that low dose confused the body into starting to shed the uterine lining. I will hold off using until maybe CD 26, if I use it at all. I mention that only because I haven't read anything like that in people's reviews of this estrogen or the progesterone cream. I wanted to give as much information as possible because perimenopause and menopause are not talked enough about and often we find ourselves in it without a ton of information or guidance aside from the most popular, dominant theories and limited allopathic suggestions. In the medical world, I've been a consistent outlier, maybe you are too. I hope this helps someone & Wishing you well on this journey!

Sleep restored!
Chomping at the bit to try! Years ago and way before menopause, I bought SMN Progesto and saw that my sleep improved. So many friends are taking some form of estrogen at my age but I didn’t want to go down that route. I thought in post menopause I would see parts of my life improve that were rattled by menopause but that hasn't exactly happened. Brain fog, hot flashes, weight gain, GI issues, bloating, and poor sleep persist. I remembered this company, read the reviews, and thought I’d give the Estro original a try. I used the progesto I still had, (yes it still works after all this time) and the Estro original and had AMAZING sleep. The type of sleep where when I woke up my thumb hurt because I slept so soundly I didn't realize I was sleeping on my thumb weird. I woke up not sluggish but rested and that same morning my GI issues were improving. I felt calm, clear, energized, and positive. It was a hectic week but it didn't bother me. I couldn't believe it would work that fast and I was skeptical. I continued for a week and the positive effects remained. My ever present hot flashes were cut in half. I noticed a headache for a couple of days but I think that was how I had been sitting. I also feel like food noise was less and post-eating bloat was gone. I used it for 10 days then did every other night and still felt the benefits. This last time I waited 3 nights and my sleep wasn't as good and I felt more snacky during the day. Last night I resumed and had another deep sleep. Strangely, I never remember my dreams but I do when I use this. My dreams are vivid but not scary like when I've tried other sleep solutions. In general, I don't feel medicated but a truly closer version of my pre menopausal self.

Off label use for hair regrowth and it works for me
I have been using this product for years. I use it for “off label” use. I put a little on the back of my head where my hair is thinning as I read that follicles may begin to stop producing hair once estrogen drops in menopause. I’m happy to report this has helped little new hairs start to grow after a couple of months use. I didn’t like using minoxidil and a side of effect from it was that using it before bedtime meant that I was getting more chin and facial hair. The estrogen cream works well and isn’t greasy. It has a fairly faint smell and doesn’t make my hair oily. It absorbs into my scalp and doesn’t cause flaking or dryness.

Works well with minimal issues.
This works well. Instant relief and love that it’s natural. I sleep way better and no intense rage anymore. Think I am starting to lose some weight too. Still early. The downsides are it’s kind of messy (can get on bedding) and it is not great smelling. It’s tolerable for the trade offs for sure.

Sad that the ingredients have totally changed
The old reviews really mean nothing on this cream because the product's ingredients have totally changed. I purchased this cream on 9/11/24, and comparing the product listed now 9/26/24, found there has been a complete formula change. The ingredients on my old bottle are: Deionized water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Shea Butter, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Potassium Sorbate, Micronized USP Estriol. (You can compare that to the current product's ingredients to note the changes.) I won't be able to use the new formula because of the added Black Cohosh (it causes me to have nightmares). This makes me very sad because since using a pea-sized amount of the older version of this cream topically every night for two weeks, and then three times a week afterward, I've seen an improvement in dryness issues and a stubborn UTI. I'm several years past menopause and was experiencing the vaginal atrophy that is very common at this life phase. The older version of this cream is helping with several of those issues. I would give 5 Stars to the older formula but 0 Stars for the new formulation. I don't need/want all the extra ingredients they've added to this new formula, and I will have to find something else to take its place now.
