The heating pad is a good, solid weight. The cover is very soft and the heating pad itself is pliable and flexible, not stiff like my current pad. I like that it stays on for a couple of hours without automatically turning off, and even when I turn it to high, the temperature seems to moderate itself throughout the length of time that it's on. In other words: even when it's at its warmest, it doesn't stay at that temp. It comes down a bit then goes back up. It has really done my arthritic knee a world of good. Also, I didn't get the largest size, but the one I got is ample.

Heats up fast. I got this to heat up hot stones for my massage therapy Business so they stay at very consistent temperature. My family loved it so much when we were testing it out that I had to buy another one for At Home. The infrared heat is deeper and more penetrating than pure’s regular heating pads. It has just a bit of weight to it, but not enough to be considered a weighted pad. I find it to be perfect for placement on the body and contouring and hugging the back or shoulders. I got this on sale, but would definitely pay full price for it. I love the automatic shut off. The controllers are simple and easy to use.

Very large heating pad. It covers my entire back. It does get up to heat quickly. It is an excellent heating pad.

This type of heating pad was recommended by our doctor. It worked great for a few months, but then - as has happened to other buyers - we got the flashing red light and resetting it did not work. We had not sat or laid down on the heating pad. The company's customer service was very helpful and sent us a new heating pad. (They also told us not to fold it while warm - I don't think that's in the instructions anywhere.) But we do wonder how long the second one will last. Meanwhile, we've had the same basic drugstore heating pad for years, and it still works fine (for what it is).
