Admittedly, it did not work when I first plugged it in; got some weird error messages. But after rebooting the new laptop, it hasn't had any issues recognizing and accessing the former laptop's SSD. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Getting the new computer to transfer from the old, while different from the pains of the past, was just as painful. It's MUCH better to just yank the SSD into and enclosure, and then choose your files to transfer (assuming you don't need ancient apps and clients like I had).
