Review: Lightweight, sizeable, durable, and easy to assemble. A winner! - My wife and I have been constructing and monitoring nest boxes for bluebirds and purple martins since 2003. I build my own out of pvc, wood, and various other materials and have always relied on specifications outlined by NABS (North American Bluebird Society), Audobon, and others. After last year's severe winds and hurricanes, my wooden martin boxes had suffered significant damage aside from the normal warping, weathering, and wasp infestations. Turning to the pre-fab houses as a possible solution, I purchased this box and was absolutely thrilled that it is very spacious, very lightweight, very easy to assemble, and very reasonably priced. It took me roughly 15 minutes to assemble using the very clear instructions and simple slot and tab construction. This would be a fantastic project to have your children help out with. No sharp edges, tools, or hardware needed. The corrugated plastic interior and ample ventilation throughout means the birds will stay cool in the heat of spring and early summer. And the easy to flip up panels mean that clearing out old nests, sparrows, wasps, etc., will be very easy. The holes can be left as is to reduce starling occupation or opened fully as in the photos to allow for greater access for the martins. Also the interior deviders can be customized to make larger compartments if so desired. Flexibility is the key with this box. The martins are already nesting in this part of the country, and a few have already started scoping out this new piece of real estate. It shouldn't be long before we see them constructing nests and feeding their young. I highly recomend this box.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Down on the Farm! 🐦‍⬛

Hmmm… first off assembly was not that big of a deal but it was a bit tricky I would say it’s helpful to have some sort of an exacto knife on hand as the polycarbonate interior panels arrive in sheet form and the panels must be separated much like removing the pieces from a model airplane kit and so almost all of the perforations separate easily and the panels pop free but occasionally they won’t separate and this is where the exacto knife comes I handy since the plastic the panels are made of stretches when you try to pull the panel free it doesn’t snap it stretches so a knife solves this issue. Secondly the instructions are not the best and I’m pretty good at assembling most Things and I wound up figuring most of the assembly intuitively it was kind of obvious how a lot of the assembly was going to progress. I’m finding this instruction list problem is prevalent in many items that require assembly and thankfully there’s generally a utube video to clarify the issues at being experienced whilest assembling said item. Sadly this is not my last negative outlook on this item since the mounting receiver at the base of the birdhouse is a dedicated socket that requires the use of the manufacturer’s proprietary pole and adapter which this birdhouse did not come supplied with. I don’t have a problem with purchasing a properly mated accessory from the manufacturer so long as it it meets my current needs which this pole does not it’s not tall enough . The manufacturer lists a fifteen foot pole for sale however they don’t mention that almost three feet of that pole needs to be anchored down in concrete so you effectively now have maybe twelve feet of pole for the birdhouse to sit on and that’s not enough because purple martins don’t like to feel threatened by any type of potential predators like raccoons and the like so the birdhouse is best suited upwards of twenty feet with no close proximity trees around the birdhouse and the addition of some sort of collar around the pole about head high is also a smart add on for the birds peace of mind and yours also . On a brighter note the entire birdhouse is amazingly light yet appears to be well constructed and really does just snap together it’s pretty straightforward don’t be overwhelmed when you unbox it it doesn’t look like much but in the end it is quite impressive to look at an amazing replication of what I would picture in front of some craftsman Amish farmers house his pride and joy for everyone to see and all the little martins and barn swallows all so happy to live in their perfect home safeNsound up in the clouds on his little homestead! ☯️👍
