I used it on all my surfaces, bed, couch, chair, carpet. **Q: Does the spray have to be used within a certain amount of time after it's opened?** A: I see no reason to be concerned about how long you keep the spray or how fast you use it. Because I spray our bedding daily, my bottle last approximately two months. I did notice that the fine spray works best. That covers more area. The description says it won't, but one of the reviews seems to differ.** A: Mine never has stained/bleached my carpet. My carpet is a tan brown color. I spray this on my carpet every four months a few hours before I have the steam cleaners come in. I've used it on bedding and drapes too. **Q: Can I use this product on laminant flooring i.e. Pergo?** A: Even though the instructions read you can use this product on surfaces, I only spray it in the general area of furniture and rugs.
