Smart and Classy
Someone is going to have to explain to me exactly how a Chemex can be worth twice the price. Admittedly, a tiny piece of me still wants a Chemex for reasons borne of pure vanity, but this carafe and it's filter cone are both of great quality. A lot of imitations on the market are downright ugly in my opinion, but this one has the sleek, sexy hourglass shape. To be completely honest, I probably would have spent the extra money for Chemex if it weren't for that. Afterall, what more is this than a glass jar, of not an aesthetic table piece? It sets the mood. The filter cone has a very fine mesh screen on the inside. I've been known to grind a little too fine, and no grit comes through whatsoever. Also, coffee granules never get stuck in the filter. Not a single one. I simply dump and rinse when I'm done with it. I was concerned about the squared pour spout, but my fears were unfounded. It actually makes for a nice-and-easy pour, not too fast so you don't accidentally blast your wife's favorite robe with piping hot liquid in a morning stupor. I do have one small critique; the wooden collar feels... dry, if that makes sense. I think they just splashed it with such a thick heavy coat of polyurethane, that it makes it feel almost brittle like it's going to chip possibly. I'm afraid to wash it. Maybe it's just cheap wood or something, I dunno I can't really put my finger on it, but if it does fall apart, I'll just get like a nice looking piece of leather or something to wrap around it. I think customizing it that way could actually be a cool personal touch. Come to think of it, I might actually do that!

Good One
Nice quality. We have been using it for a while now to facilitate filtering out cholesterol raising diterpenes from our coffee. First, we French press then use this. A paper filter fits perfectly into our stainless strainer which fits perfectly into this coffee maker. A better way of attaching the wood "handle" is expected. We replaced the cord and wooden ball with a zip-tie.

Good, less expensive alternative to the overpriced Chemex 3-cup Pour Over
This is a very good alternative to the small, straight sided Chemex 3-cup model. However, Agogo's stated capacity is misleading. You have to allow room right below the neck for either the included metal filter or the Melita style paper filters (which I prefer, one filter is all you need, more on this later). The maximum capacity, according to the numbers printed in white on the glass (a plus, something that Chemex does NOT provide) is 600ml, which translates to approximately 20 ounces. Unlike standard measurements of 8 ounces to a cup, in the coffee world, there are only 5 ounces to a cup, so the effective capacity of this is 4 cups, NOT 6. It is perfect for one person who wants a few cups of coffee, or two people who are just drinking a couple of small cups or one larger mug per person. Chemex has continued to become more pricey, and their 3 cup model (essentially the same size as this) is a third more expensive ($42). The glass on the Agogo does seem a tiny bit more robust, which is important, as every time I have had to replace one of these style pour over coffee makers it is due to the glass breaking. In regards to filters, the regular sized Melita filters (I prefer the natural brown over the white) work perfectly in this, as long as you make a couple of folds at the very bottom first (VERY important, otherwise the grounds will break through the bottom of the filter and fall into the liquid), and then fold each side in about an inch, leaving the top level all the way across. Just push slightly into the opening of the Agogo and it fits perfectly. Another plus is that it has a little Chemex style channel on the pouring side which is also very important. Without it, the filter makes too perfect a seal, it can't breathe properly and the coffee sputters all over the place, quite a mess. All in all, I would definitely recommend this for people who don't need a larger capacity pour over coffee maker, just be aware that the capacity is not as advertised.

Make sure you don’t overheat the water
Works great, but they don’t tell you how to use the filter so you grabbed the two outside single edges and when you pull on them, it’ll turn into a cone with three layers on one side and a single layer on the other lay the three layers at the end of the spout and you’re ready to go oh yeah, make a divot in your coffee grounds

Pours Stupid
I agree that my coffee tastes better using the pour over method rather than brewing or kcup coffee maker. However, the amount of coffee that ends up on my counter top is beyond frustrating. Though this particular pour over coffee maker is asthetically pleasing; the stupid pour and mess that it makes is a big issue. I hate it for that reason. Not worth the price due to the excessive waste.

Makes the BEST coffee!!
This drip coffee maker makes the absolute best tasting coffee I’ve had. And it looks great on the counter or on the stove and is easy to handle and wash. I highly recommend it. Delivery was quick also.

Try this - you won’t be disappointed
Easy to hold. Thick glass. Easy to clean. Pours precisely and cleanly. Filters quickly but holds flavor. Holds enough to fill two 16-oz travel mugs. I have had several different pour-over coffee makers. This one is by far my favorite. I will never go back to an electric drip coffee maker. Price is right too!!
