REVISED: I’d Recommend but Read Review to know why I said “SKIP IT”
UPDATE 04/11/19: I reviewed this on March 4th with the heading “SKIP IT - Failure is Iminent” but after having printed my return label and reviewed this product, I received 4 more discs from the company to try out. Same magnets- just to try again. The first five pics are from that review. I decided to give it another shot and maybe it was the pebbled dash. This time, I put it in a different place. I show you the texture pre-application, how it looked initially and how it still looks today- with no problems. While not exactly where I’d have chosen to put it, it works out well. Do I remove it from the sticker? NO. I tried that before even applying the new magnet and got a pinched finger for my effort. Lol. They work wellllll together- I wouldn’t try to part them but I dont need to move it around anyway. AUDI a3 OWNERS: if you have the pebbled dash you see in my pics- don’t go there. But it works QUITE WELL where it is now. Better than expected. Flat much smoother surface. I circled where I put it in pic #6. Maybe it’s the fact that my dash isn’t 100% smooth but I don’t think so. So what’s with these great reviews? If you look at my pictures you’ll see the pattern isn’t 100% smooth, but it’s not ridged. You’ll also see where I first tried to attach the magnet- between the vents where I saw it pictured. Perfect place for it. Didn’t work. I did exactly what it said- cleaned it with the alcohol swab, allowed it to dry and then stuck the magnet there allowing it 24 hours to set before I put the movable part on. Day 1, with magnet between the vents, I went to adjust the angle as soon as I attached it. The second I did, because the adjusting takes a little push, it pulled the magnet right off. Disappointed? Yes. But I had another magnet and figured that just wasn’t the place to put it. Second try/second magnet: I cleaned the area with the second alcohol wipe, the only area I thought I could place it and have it work. On the flattest part - to the left of the pop-up screen but back a little further. I let it set for 24 hours. When I went to put the movable part on it and adjust it? SAME. THING. It pulled the magnet right off. The spot that didn’t work is also pictured. The problem? I took pictures of that too. The movable part is very heavy. I’d say well made except it didn’t work. It’s way WAY too heavy for the thin sticker magnet they give you. I can’t even imagine trying to take the movable part off- all I ever tried to do was adjust the angle and it pulled the thin sticker magnet right off. The stationary magnet is NO MATCH for the heavy movable part that the phone would be attached to. Just see the pictures. My dash’s design (which shouldn’t be a problem- it FEELS smooth!), the size of the sticker magnet vs the size of the heavy piece that you’re supposed to be able to move. I couldn’t even adjust it-let alone have a second stationary magnet somewhere else and move between the two! This is a horrible design. The stationary magnets need to be much thicker, heavier - SOMETHING! The two just *do not* work together.

Breddy good, fren
This is what I'd always looked for in all the other magnetic phone mounts I've tried. I can't tell you just how many others I've tried since, well, I guess in college back in 2009. With all my past ones, the glue has melted off in hot weather; they would get all loosey goosey and not be able to hold my phone in whatever position I wanted; and the magnet's strength was always an issue. I always worried that my phone would pop off when driving, hit my stick shift front-first, and crack the screen. I've had this for over a year now and 100% honest, I had to use different glue. Mine lost its strength sometimes in the months after my purchasing it. I ended up going with e6000 because it bonds tight but still comes off without marring plastic. It's been great. For the little steel disc you put on your case, I used this kind of tape that's used to keep rugs from moving on wood floors. Works better than JBweld. Never had to reapply it and it sticks no matter how high the temp. e6000 would have worked just as well, I bet. I was just curious. The reason I'm so satisfied with it is because the mechanisms/ball joints themselves are top-notch. It will hold a tablet a 30 degree angle along bumpy roads and it hasn't lost strength at all the time I've driven with it (2 hours a day for over a year. It has those two ball joints, so you can get any angle you want. So I guess the takeaway is this: You're going to have to reglue it if you live in a really hot climate, but the internals are awesome.

Beautiful Design
First of all, I should note that I am not using this in a car so it is not being exposed to hot/cold and bumpy roads. For that purpose, I cannot vouch for its durability, though I imagine it will work perfectly. I am using this mount to suspend an iPad Air 2 from custom designed shelves on my desk. I mounted one thick metal disc on either side of my computer monitors so that I can move the iPad to either side as necessary. I ultimately decided on this magnetic mount for that purpose, it has the best flexibility. I can mount the thick discs anywhere to mount it, but also the mount itself can mount to any metal surface, which makes it great to take into the kitchen for recipes, etc. The mount is very sturdy. In fact, it is one of the most beautifully machined pieces of metal I've ever seen. Most magnetic phone/tablet mounts are plastic and cheap looking with a lot of flex, this is beautifully machined metal and very sturdy. It has no difficulty holding an iPad Air 2 up, with the mount hanging from the bottom of a shelf and angled straight out at two 45 degree angles. It doesn't sag or move at all, which is very impressive considering its relatively small size. I don't know if it'll continue to hold up, but it is great so far. The only issue I have had so far is the adhesive on one of the two thick metal discs that I mounted under my shelf. One of them completely failed, luckily it was as I was re-attaching the iPad to that disc so the iPad was in my hands. The adhesive on those discs is 3M VHB which is incredibly strong stuff, so I am going to chalk it up to user error. The shelves are wood so it is very possible it isn't a fully smooth surface. I ended up taking all the adhesive off and using Gorilla Glue to re-attach it to the shelf. It is so thin that it isn't visible and I'm more than happy to have it permanently attached. The adhesive on the other disc and the adhesive on the back of the iPad are rock solid though, so the failure was definitely my own. I don't know if this mount would hold up anything much larger/heavier than an iPad Air, but I wouldn't hesitate to put any phone or small tablet on it. I'm strongly considering getting one for my car now as well since this worked so well. If you're in the market for a phone/magnet mount with the ultimate flexibility and beautiful design, this is what you want.

Secure Mounting--Everything You Need Is Included
I returned from a recent camping trip where I tested three Clutchit double-gimbal magnetic holders. Yes, I bought three of them: one to hold my GPS on the dash, and the other two to hold sensor LED lights that I attach above the side and rear doors of my van. Of course the one that holds my GPS unit works fine. The flatter the dash surface the better, but mine even works well on a slightly curved dash surface. And even though I have several times lifted and moved the metal base with the sticky back side, it continues to hold well. There are, however, more permanent sticky tape products that I can apply to the back of the metal base. But for the time being, what came in the box is just fine. As for use with the LED sensor lights, the Clutchit magnet has a very soft, paint-friendly surface applied to it that allows me to attach the Clutchit and LED light to the outside of my van without the worry that it might scratch the paint. I like that the double-gimbal swivel allows me to move the LED sensor lights in just about any direction I need. Now, when something approaches my van within the LED sensor range, the lights will come on. The Clutchit comes with extra metal plates with a sticky back so that you can attach it to multiple locations. That makes it very versatile, and I don't have to go out and buy add-ons. Everything you need for multiple applications is already included. Of course, I don't leave the Clutchit attached to the outside of the van when I'm in transit. It holds onto the metal securely, but I don't know how heavy wind and road bumps will affect it. May someday I'll test it out.

Good product, but it fails in the sun
The good: The magnetic strength of this product is incredible, and the product itself is constructed very well. Their customer service is also top notch so all around it gets 4 stars The bad: I bought this to adhere to my cars windshield, which means it sees sun. If you live somewhere hot... the adhesive backing pads will fail as they’re not rated to survive high temperatures. In fact, when you receive the product the instructions actually recommend you remove the clutchit system when parking out in the sun to keep it from failing. That’s pretty annoying especially when I’m using it for a cam system that’s to monitor my vehicle while parked. The fix: I ended up removing the adhesive from the plate with a razor blade and goo gone. I washed it off with dawn (or equivalent). Let dry. Wipe clean with alcohol. Then I added some permatex ultra grey to the back of the plate. This stuff is rated for temperatures as high as 500 degrees so this isn’t going to fail in the sun. Make sure you use a decent dab of the ultra grey so the plate has some backing sustenance to it when you push it onto your window. The ultra grey will fan out and spread over the back of the tape. Let it cure for 24 hours before putting the clutchit system back on

Worth the money to get quality that holds securley
On the suggestion of a friend, I purchased this phone mount to hold my phone securely in my vehicle. I have had magnetic mounts for quite some time now but have always went the cheaper route to get by. This has led to near screen destruction when hitting rough patches of road and my phone falling off. The Clutchit offers great adjust-ability and a super strong magnet that has really impressed me. Also unlike other phone mounts that are double-side taped right to the dash, this one uses a plate on the dash like the one on the phone to make this mount portable to use anywhere that you have a base plate or magnetic metal surface. It includes extra mounting plates for this purpose, to take it with you to another vehicle, a desk at work, or even in an open cab tractor used in the howling ND winds. This mount held a clipboard without fail out on the open fields during our spring planting season. I highly recommend the Clutchit for anyone who needs a quality, well built, and super strong mount that has been literally "field" tested.

the mount droops down. magnets are don’t support the weight. The adhesive is crap
I had high hopes for the Original Dual Magnetic Movable Phone Holder and Tablet Mount, but it completely let me down. As soon as I put my iPhone in the mount, it started drooping down. The magnets are weak and don’t support the weight like advertised. Even worse, the adhesive that’s supposed to stick to the dash gave out after just one week. Now I’m left with a useless mount that won’t stay up or stay put. Save your money and look for something more reliable.

Almost Good
Could be a solid item. I got it a little over 2 years ago. But mainly been sitting in a drawer. I forgot why I don’t use it. Until I recently picked it up again. The moment you mount your phone to it and the other end to anywhere else. The mount slowly starts tilting down until it faces down. Almost a great product but seems the ball joints can’t hold the weight of a regular phone. This problem started within my first 2 months of use. That’s why I stopped using it. Hope an updated version comes out, or if mine was just defective possibly.
