Most vehicles will not have a factory switch for the hood, so you would need to add one. But this alarm allows for the doors and hood/trunk areas to be monitored while the alarm is armed. It will also have a slot on the alarm to hook up a additional shock sensor, but the alarm has a built-in shock sensor already. Also, along with a relay that can be wired up for the ignition kill. I have arrempted to clear valet mode several times, and it chirps confirmation.** A: My understanding (from our installer) is that the blue light will never β€œgo out.” If car is in valet mode light will be on continuously. Once the system is armed the blue light will be flashing.
