A: The valve is controlled by a hollow plastic float. It's advisable to use it on the low-pressure cold water inside supply. I use an adapter (with a shutoff) on my washing machine hose. One of those and some icemaker tubing works for me.

A: It' pretty standard float valve so it should work.
