The height is just right to set the monitor at the eye-level of the person sitting in front of it. That makes a big difference in case the user uses the desktop for long hours at a stretch. Very solid construction. Amazon basics is known for quality at affordable price. It will raise your monitor to around 4 inch hieght which is good. But what i noticed more is that the design allows you to fit more stuff on the desk than some other monitor stands. The legs of the stand dont get in the way of your cables. There is ample space in the back for cables from your monitor . I managed to fit my amplifier under the stand very easily. You could fit a 13inch laptop or a keyboard under it. However if your desk is not deep you may feel a bit cramped as it takes around 11 inches of the depth of your desk. And 14 inchs of width.
