I don't think this is one of them ... although I've never tried it to see. Kong makes some yellow ones specifically designed for the water. **Q: The Kong has a very strong chemical smell. I bought 2 of the red, large, classic ones, and they both do. Anyone else experienced this? Does it go away** A: I bought the large one here, and also one from my local small pet shop. The one from Amazon smells awful, so strong and after several washes it's still just as bad. The one from my local shop is slightly different shade of red, and smells much much better, same size and model. The "kong" logo on the one from Amazon is a different size, and barely sticks out, where the one from my local shop is very defined, and protrudes 2-3x as far from the surface. Makes me think this one from Amazon might be counterfeit. **Q: I just receive it, and the hole in the bottom is so big that the treats will fall out. What treats can be put in these without that happening?** A: I soak kibble in water and add some baby food , like sweet potato, carrot, green bean , Sometimes I add the Kong squeeze liver to it, Or small pieces of apple, I used to add Peter Pan peanut butter to it, (its soy free and best for your dog) but my baby is allergic to PB .. opps. I fill it mostly with wet kibble, and the few teaspoons of baby food, (or all natural apple sauce) I leave a small grain free biscuit sticking out of the end and freeze it over night and it takes him 40-60 minutes to get it all out. .. He does his thing on the sofa, I just cover it with a blanket to keep it from getting soaked. The small one takes him 15 minutes. I portion this with his meal to make sure I don't over feed him. But Kibble and Applesauce or babyfood is a inexpensive option .. the large one gives me time to catch up on laundry, dishes and a shower!!!! **Q: Would it make a big mess inside the house?** A: Depends on what you fill it with. I generally put in kibble, mixed with a little peanut butter to make it stick inside. My lab cleans up everything and anything that comes out of it. The Kong is the best thing you can give a dog! You can stuff these things with all kinds of yummy things. I love to get creative with the Kongs. Adding novelty to your dog's life improves their brain health. I can't even give examples because I would be here all day. For dogs who eat kibble you can soak your kibble in water or better yet bone broth, then once it's soft, fill the kong with the kibble and put it in your freezer. Keeps your dog busy for a long time, you don't have to buy extra stuff because you just give them the kibble you're already going to give them. (I recommend getting at least one, but up to six for each dog so you can give them their entire daily allowance of food in the Kongs). The licking /chewing helps them relieve stress and gives them something to enjoy inside their crate. I learned this from Dr. Ian Dunbar and I highly recommend his training courses on a platform called Dunbar Academy to learn how to properly raise a Puppy into the best dog you've ever had. He has helpful information for older dogs too, but you really want to train your puppy properly so you can avoid the behavior problems in the first place. It's super cheap too, and easy to learn from.Plus these are great chew toys for heavy chewers because as long as you get the right size for your dog, they can't destroy this thing! AND it bounces, so you can actually play fetch with it like it's a ball. Every single dog deserves a Kong, so if you don't already have one, go ahead and do that right now.
