Quality timerr
Nice big numbers, easy to see. Stands up nicely. Not the loudest.

The best kitchen timer on the market.
This is the best timer I have ever used and I have two of them in my kitchen. What I like best is the size, it's very easy to see. It counts up or count down. It's easy to set, it rings until you stop it, it's easy to reset. It takes batteries that are easy to get. It's lasted for years.

Nice Timer.
This seems to be a very nice timer. It seems to be much better than the Presto timer I had before. The switches for the buttons seem very solid. The Presto worked OK for a while but after about a year the buttons quit working so I will have to use this one for a while before I know for sure that it will last longer. I disassembled the Presto timer and cleaned the switch contacts with alcohol then the buttons worked for about 4 uses and quit again. The switches were just contact switches, the kind that always seem to fail. The buttons seem more solid on this CDN timer but time will tell how long they last. The large display on this CDN timer makes it easy to read from across the room. The alarm is loud enough for most uses but cannot be made any louder for very noisy environments. The Presto had about the same volume. Update 08-18-2015: After a bit more than a year this timer is still working great. The buttons all continue to function as they should. No problems at all with function. I recommend this timer for a simple timer that just works for the long term.

If you’re looking for the perfect, simple timer
I bought this timer in Jan. 2010… FIFTEEN years ago! It’s still going strong. It doesn’t look pretty but is consistent and reliable. It’s definitely more expensive than others but it’s such a great timer and it’ll last forever.

Poorly-made junk
There seemed to be a reasonable number of positive reviews, so I took a chance and ordered one to send to a friend who needs the large digits to see the timer when not wearing her glasses. I wasn't expecting it to be sturdily built or to last for decades, but I was expecting it to at least work out of the box. I sent her the timer without opening it, and when she got it, she told me it was completely DOA. Unresponsive to anything. Tried a fresh battery - no difference. It would end up costing more for her to mail it back to me in order to return it to Amazon than would be worthwhile. So I foolishly decided the dud timer was a fluke and ordered a second one, because I really liked the display & simple, functional design. This time, I tried it myself before giving it away, and sure enough, the second one was broken as well. It at least displayed numbers on the LCD panel and allowed a time to be set, but when I press the Start/Stop button, it counts down to zero and immediately starts counting up again. Odd. I suppose I can see why you might want that function at times, but as the unalterable default? Good way to run down a battery, too, if you expect it to turn itself off after beeping, and don't notice that it is an ADHD timer. And there's the real rub - beeping: it never beeps. At all. Not even a peep or a whimper. Never makes any sound whatsoever, under any circumstances. Tried removing & reinserting the battery a few times to see if rebooting its hyperactive little mind would do anything constructive, but no such luck. SO this one, at least, is going back to Amazon. I decided to try the Robic Three Memory Timer next, as the other timers with similar displays had even worse reviews that the CDN, and the Robic allows the alarm level to be adjusted and can remember three intervals, which could be useful. And it doesn't seem to make unfortunate assumptions about the manner in which it will be used. Fingers tightly crossed...

The magnet on the back is perfect
This counter is so handy because of many things. 1. It has a magnet on the back of it so that you can place it on the referigtor and on the microwave so it is near where you are cooking and move it as you move around and stick it. 2. The numbers is larger and easy to read from a good piece away. 3. The timer does not stop just at the time that you had it to go off but will start counting foreward to show you how late you are from the time that you wanted to measure time act. 4. It has a fold at a angle clip on the back so you can stand it up so you can put it anywhere you want to put it even in the living room if you really want to watch you cooking time. It uses 3a battery which it comes with one when you get it so you are ready to time when you take it out of the box. and finally it comes with a 5 year warranty which I thougt was a case that the company backs there product. With all that I have stated you cannot go wrong with this counter and start cooking on time.

Useful and Sturdy
Who would believe that they actually make some microwaves without a built-in timer(!) and (of course) that is the particular model my husband decided to buy to replace our old microwave that recently fizzled. It's a cabinet-mount, so by the time I got home from work and realized this fact, he had already wrestled for a few hours to install it... too much of a hassle remove and take back. Enter this great little timer. It has a sturdy back stand that can fold out for counter use, but it also has a very strong back magnet, so we simply stuck it to the side of the microwave and use it whenever needed. The numbers are large and the buzzer is loud, and the operation is easy to understand, so it is very efficient. The only problem is that the read-out is not very bright. The black numbers against the gray background are kind of hard to read from a distance. Would have been nice to have a brighter contrast.

I love these timers (I use three to time my cooking all the time). They’re simple to use easy to see across the room.

The back has a magnet, a stand or a hanger for convenience to use where you want. Alarm sounds for 60 seconds with a high enough volume to hear in an adjoining room.
