another great Braun product
I have been using this product for close to a year now with my Braun electric razor. The product works very well in cleaning and refreshing my razor. I use it after every shave. It has helped keep my razor sharp and non greasy. I like the fact it isn't loaded with a bunch of toxic ingredients yet it gets the facial hair and grease out perfectly. The product lasts over 30 days for me. It also has a pleasant fragrance so when you use your razor again it has a nice fresh clean and not overbearing fragrance to it. This product will help my razor last a very long time. The price was good. The product arrived two days before estimated delivery date in perfect condition. It was packed in a Braun package so they ust have just grabbed it off the shelf and sealed and shipped it. All in all the price was good. I love the subscription option. It saves you a nice amount of change over time.

Best price anywhere and change and forget cleaning for my razor, a delight!
I used to HATE cleaning my electric razors. I have a heavy, fast-growing beard, and sensitive skin which leaves me few good options besides Braun. I tried the Panasonic wet razors, but they weren't up to my beard and were pretty much a pain to clean, too, especially if you used the creams they hawk with them. But now, with Braun's clean and renew refills, you just pop the razor back into the stand, wait for the light to signal whether you should do a light or intense cleaning, press the button recommended, and walk away. I find that I clean my razor more regularly, that the blades and foils last longer, and because of this, that I get a close, more comfortable shave, even when I'm tackling a long weekend's growth following a bout of sloth. Now I recognize this is, clearly, Braun's take on Gillette's business model of recurring revenue, addicting you to the convenience of their cleaning solution for a low monthly price. But hey! Look at the price for 4 of these units at under $5/ month and which always last me closer to 6 months than 4 coming to less than $3/ month, and understand your blades and foils lasting longer will pay for these even if you don't value your time that highly to avoid daily light cleanings. And how many of us TRULY disinfected our razors in alcohol *ever* or deep-cleaned and lubricated them to the manufacturer's recommendations before this anyway? I know *I* didn't before. But now I do with simply the touch of a button! Now do yourself a favor and order these guys and let Amazon save you some money and headache by selling you a subscription so you don't ever run out. You, your face, and especially your Braun razor *deserve* this!

Great savings, and even more discounts if autoorder registration
Good price on an Item that bought individualy is way overpriced. This is cheapest way to order these cartridges. They even offer a even deeper discount if you register for the autoship of future shipments, timed for whenever your current refills will be empty. Depending on how often you use your razor, once opened due mostly to evaporation...each cartridge of cleaning solution can last from 30 days to 60...depending on use and humidity where you are. Three cartridges can last 4 months. Some will get less and some more..so figure out and adjust your shipping schedule to fit your needs...you can store unopened cartridges so they wont go bad or loose volume unless opened. Razor really runs best when cleaned daily and the mixture of alcohol, moisturizer and blade oil is unique and good enough to get the original. Making a mix your own is harder than It may seem.

Unexpected surprised positives and negatives
Run Down: Positive: the package was delivered on the day it was promised, even with all the black Friday frustration. Package came in a frustration free box which was easy to open and sealed with no way of accidentally opening. The product is good, fresh, and new. My Braun Shaver did not have a problem recognizing it is a refill and worked instantly. The refills should generally last for a few months. Some people have claimed 4 refills have lasted a year. Negatives: No Major problems. This is a real Braun product. Labeling has geunine Braun label, but some sort of Japanese writing too. No manual or description booklet. This usually supports it being genuine. Short: I liked the packaging, Braun was able to give me 4 refills that matched my machine shaver well and started to clean it fast. Will buy from them again and happy. So far used only 1 refill. I ordered the 4 package braun clean and renew refills. I was waiting for my package and realized that it may take longer because I ordered it a few days before thanksgiving. I was not feeling any disappointment with amazon, I was able to recieve the package on their promised date. When I first received the package, I was impressed how easily it could be opened. Of course amazon had taped the opening so that the package would not open randomly. I'm glad they did. When I opened my package, it was set up as I expected. The only thing that I was a little surprised was the labeling. I believe I received an genuine product. The label had some part written in I believe Japanese. The label still clearly stated in english Braun clean and refills so it didn't matter too much with me. Right as soon as I used it, my machine did not have any problems detecting this product and started cleaning my shaver. At the moment, I don't really think there's too many problems that I can notice. If you're thinking of buying this product, I'm sure that you'll enjoy it. If you're really picky about if it's genuine, I believe you shouldn't worry about it. Although I did pick the frustration free packaging, I was looking for some sort of manual or description and did not find any. One way to figure out if it's genuine is if the package has some sort of instructions or display.

Efficiently using the cleaning cartridges / Update: Cleaning Unit Rejected a Refilled Cartridge!
***Start of Update*** April 7, 2018 Clean and Renew Unit Rejected a Refilled Cartridge!!! Being a techie, I eventually tried cleaning out old cartridges and then refilling them like many others here have mentioned. The first 2 cartridges worked fine but the 3rd was rejected... the motor hummed for about a second or two and then the red fluid level light came on. SOLUTION... Re-sync the razor and cleaning unit: Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet, then remove the razor from the unit and run it for 5-10 minutes. Plug the unit back in and re-attempt to clean the razor. If the re-syncing doesn't work on the first attempt, repeat the process but double the time the razor is run. After several attempts, the cartridge was accepted (green fluid level light). ***End of Update*** April 8, 2017 I've finally settled on an efficient way to use the cleaning cartridges. I clean my razor once a week with the cartridge as if I was away from home all week. I recap the Clean and Renew Cartridge after each weekly use. Thus my first cleaning cartridge has been used for three months and the fluid level lights indicate the fluid level is still full, which makes sense since the cartridge is only uncapped for about 2 hours each week. After recapping the cartridge, I reinsert the capped cartridge in the cleaning unit WITHOUT closing the cleaning unit's housing afterwards. I then unplug the charging plug from the electrical wall socket and place it in the opening at the top of the cleaning unit. Then I'm free to hide the unit away for a week in a closet. Before each shave, I use William's Lectric shave.on my beard and after each shave, I remove the foil shave head temporarily so I can gently tap the razor body and head individually on the side of the sink to allow majority of the hairs to fall into the sink.

Worth the money...
I'd purchased the Braun shaver system about 2 months ago. This is about the 6th Braun shaver I've owned in the last 25 years, and they've always been great shavers. But this is the first time I've had a "system" that self-cleans the razor. And after using it the first time, I can say it is WORTH IT! The cleaning solution leaves a nice clean "Lemoney" scent on the razor, and it's a nice way to start a morning after a shower. The only thing I'd give as a suggestion is: Don't go more than about 2 weeks to a month before changing out the cleaning solution! Or, just use it maybe every other day. I was using it on a daily basis; one day I go to take out the razor and use it, and that nice, clean, lemoney smell had be replaced by a reeeeeaally nasty one! My fault, I'd gone for almost 1 1/2 months before changing the solution.... Great product, great cleaning system!

Amazon makes this so easy, Braun is great!
These work with both my Braun's. I have an older one and decided I would buy a new model instead of replacing the heads. The first one was not their top of the line, the second unit I decided to go all out as the first one had been great. I know it is these cleaner kits that go into the base station for both that make a huge difference. When I was traveling 200+ days a year and I'd get home (and the device would be begging for an intense cleaning) the cleaning made the device like new. Just a great system...not on the cheap side as it is an added disposable cost, but it makes a big difference on the effectiveness of the shaver. If you have a unit that takes these it is worth keeping them fresh and ready to go to get the real benefit out of your wonderful shaver. if not, get one with your next shaver...it's worth it!

Great Cleaning System
I've found the main factor in the blade getting dull is using water. Water oxidizes (rusts) the blades and dulls them. You won't see any rust on the blade, but you'll notice after a couple months the blade won't cut as close. When I started using the shaver I was cleaning the head under the tap, then running it through the cleaning cycle. Over time, the water left over from rinsing dilutes the cleaning solution and affects the sharpness of the blade. I've tried making my own cleaning solution using Isopropyl Alcohol and essential oils, but the Isopropyl Alcohol has water in it. You can tell if your cleaning solution has water in it if the hair sticks to the foil after running it through the cleaning cycle. Braun's cleaning solution is very good. It lasts me about 3 weeks using it every day. I could use it longer but by that point I'm ready to get a fresh pack in. As you use the cleaning solution, hair from the blade, oils and salt from your skin will mix into the solution and affect the freshness. When I'm done shaving, I just put the shaver into the cleaning station and press the button. So easy to keep it clean and sharp. As long as you don't use water to clean the blades, you can tell when to change the cartridge by looking in the cleaning unit. If hair has begun to stick on the sides or bottom, it's time to change. The indicator light will switch to the warning light within a couple days. Switch out the cartridge, take a q-tip and clean the inside of the cleaning unit where the razor usually rests. Press the button for a cleaning cycle and you're done.
