Recommended! I’ve tried several higher-end coatings and sealants, they all have pluses and minuses. This one I think strikes a real sweet-spot for the “pro-sumer” detailer as far as cost and longevity goes. I must caution that when using products like this, it’s all about the prep-work. Slapping this stuff on after a trip through a gas station car wash will be pretty much useless and be throwing your money away. Invest some time in learning how to properly prepare your car’s finish for sealants and coatings before application. Get the car clean of contaminants, clay it properly, do the best polish you can (this is where it’s at!), follow the directions to decontaminate the finish after the polish so you have a properly prepared paint ready to accept the coating. This will render the best finish, the best adhesion, and the longest lasting protection. All that said, some last stage coatings are really finicky and/or costly...Can Coat is a breeze and offers excellent protection for the cost. So far it’s outlasted my more expensive coating on the other family car (the cars live outside, no garage :( So they get lots of abuse from the elements ), went on more quickly, and provided a nice gloss and shine with a quick cure time. It provides the same benefits one expects from coatings - contamination comes off more easily, contaminants don’t adhere as much, water is repelled and beads up beautifully, long lasting (it’s still going strong 6 months later), glossy and shiny. If you don’t want to expend a lot of effort and worry over applying other wipe-on coatings that have more strict and finicky personalities, this is definitely one for you. Wipes on easily and quickly, beads up water beautifully, and after you’ve already spent 6 hours washing, claying, decontaminating, and polishing, the wife’s giving you the side-eye because washing the car shouldn’t take this long and you’ve still gotta mow the lawn, applying Can Coat is quick, satisfying, and it looks great!
