at best, smirk when Freud is mentioned
All my psychiatrist pals, at best, smirk when Freud is mentioned. OK, he pushes his theories too hard and is unscientific probably even for his day, but dared to write and he created the field. Few will deny that it's great literature. A must-read for any person who wishes to consider themselves educated.

Pretty new to psychology, and I was afraid Freud would be very literary and technical, but I was pleasantly surprised. He is a very good, fluid writer and keeps it in-depth, but simple enough to grasp. The "Dreams" section is by far my favorite.

If you’re thinking about buying this book you should know there’s lots of good information in it but it must be studied slowly and thoughtfully not read casually. Very dense with information and complex
