There are some great story arcs here. My favorite was the brood saga. They look like the creature in aliens and the story line is similar in nature. Can the Xmen survive an attack from within. The Claremont run on the Xmen is very well known and deserves its reputation. There are included a graphic novel God loves and man kills and some hard to find mini series like Magik featuring Colusses sister. Too much to describe and you would need to spend a boatload of time and money to find all these issues individually. There seems to be some overlap right now with the days of future past story arc and the Xmen omnibus part 3. So I will review both and keep till corrected. Days of future past is a two issue story arc that deals w the issues of racism and genocide amongst other things. There is more of this in the comics than the movie. There are themes that are similar to events in WW2 if you know what I mean. I give 5 stars on each. I encourage you to check out both. They are very good reads. Review: The X-Men must alter their horrifying future in this classic epic. - I don't know why Marvel made it into a graphic novel but I'm glad they did because "Days of Future Past" is one of the X-Men's landmark stories and it was adapted in a two-part episode in the 1992 X-Men animated series. Oh yeah and the 2014 blockbuster movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was based on that story. It opens with "Uncanny X-Men #138" where the X-Men have a funeral for Jean Grey (who die at the end of the events of "The Dark Phoenix Saga") and Cyclops leave the X-Men. Then in "Uncanny X-Men Annual #4", Doctor Strange helps the X-Men save Nightcrawler in another dimension. Then in "Uncanny X-Men #139-140", the X-Men helps Alpha Flight takes on the Wendigo. Then in "Uncanny X-Men #141-142" which features "Days of Future Past", Kitty Pryde from the future travel back into the past and enters young Kitty's body. She told the X-Men about their future being take over by Sentinels after Senator Kelly was assassinated by a mutant and most of the X-Men were killed. So the X-Men must battle Mystique & the Brotherhood of Mutants and alter their horrifying future. It also features a grey-haired Wolverine. Then the story concluded in "Uncanny X-Men #143" where Kitty takes on a demon on Christmas. Read this classic Claremont story that the new X-Men film, Days of Future Past, is roughly based on and your appreciation for both the film and the original story-line will blossom. It really gave me renewed faith in the genius' over at Marvel. Their ability to adapt the original story into a feature length film that both complements previous X-men films and leaves the Universe wide open for future adaptations that can go in virtually any direction, is impressive.
