Q: Can you cut excess lights and tubing?

Yes! If you have a bit of excess it can be cut off and the rest of the lights will still work. If you put them on 20" wheels, we suggest you don't so you can put them on a larger wheel later, but that's up to you.

Q: will this work with disc brakes?

I have disc brakes and had a little bit of trouble with the rear wheel, because the chain is on one side and the disc brake on the other. This caused some problems when installing the battery mount. No issues with the tubing. I had to play around with positioning so that I could screw in the bracket onto the battery pack. I was able to find a position where my screw driver could go THROUGH the disc brake and into the screw to tighten the bracket. This might not work with every type of disc break, might have to do some trial and error.

Q: Will these fit 29" wheels?

Q: How do batteries affect wheel balance?

The battery pack sits inside or between the bike spokes, it doesn’t effect the balance of the wheel whatsoever. It doesn’t effect my bike, I don’t have any balance issues with my bike.

Please note this is only one set for one wheel which i didsnt realise .they are lovely though and hopefully last.i bought them for my wheelchair as im only young and waned to Jazz if up a bit :) x

Not suitable for muddy bike rides

We actually ended up sticking these in my son’s small bedroom - which he loves. I didn’t think they would last on his bike which he regularly rides through mud.

Dodgy Attachment Strap

Whilst the lights are bright and colourful, the attachment strap to attach the battery unit to the spokes is woeful. I bought one set last year, and replaced it when the strap broke. On attaching two sets of lights this year, the strap on both broke within days. Only buy if you’re confident you can figure out an alternative method of attaching the battery unit to the spokes yourself.
