Really nice! We love it. One issue with our set...
My wife has been asking for a classic clue game for years. I surprised her with this and she loves it. I’ve been reading a lot of other reviews and, from what I gather, there may be some different or inferior sets out there. Ours was just about flawless. To address complaints I saw by others: The case may not be real wood, but darned if I can tell. It’s solid, hefty as heck, and has a rich, warm finish. Nice sturdy feet. Does not wobble as one reviewer said. It has chunky solid brass plates on each end of the case with the Clue font on them. Also, real glass that seems thick and safe. (Another review claimed it was not real glass). The pieces are great. They have a nice heft and solid metal bases that make a nice “clack” when set on the glass. So what if the piece inside the base is plastic? How else would you get the colors right? We love the way they feel and look. The details and colors (one review said there was no color) in the rooms are terrific. I saw one complaint that said they are just paper. True, but they are precision cut and folded pieces with tons of detail. Also each room does have a solid detailed 3D piece of furniture in it. They’re sort of mesmerizing. The weapons look and feel great. They’re all metal with bright gold finish and oversized slightly from the original game. The only piece I wasn’t crazy about was the lead pipe. It looked a little like a pasta noodle instead of a weapon (sorry I’m a stickler when it comes to bludgeons). The cards are nice stock with fun, classic pictures on them. All the pieces store a nice faux leather textured cardboard box. Some folks complained that there was no storage drawer. I admit, that would be a pretty nice feature. OK now the issue: on our set two of the room interiors do not match the label on the board. The kitchen and lounge are switched. Maybe just an freak defect? Either way, we’re quirky people so we like it and we’re not sending it back. But Hasbro might want to look into that. I’ll post a picture on their Twitter account. Now about the cost: I ordered with a Prime trial and signed up for Amazon credit so I ended up paying $150. Expensive? Yeah, I guess so for a board game. This is a luxury item that no one needs in order to play Clue. But it’s also sort of an heirloom thing that really looks nice in the house and makes playing seem special.

clue luxury edition
looks nice, but there are a few things you should know, first the board size is a little smaller than the original. and second the board is altered between the ballroom and conservatory there is only 2 tiles between the rooms, unlike the original has 3 tiles seperating the two rooms. Other than those small changes the set is terrific.

Fun Edition with a Great Look
This edition is really great. If you're considering it, you must really love CLUE or have a special connection to it because it isn't cheap. The pawns are a little lack luster but they have a good weight to them. The rooms are recessed, decorated with at least one 3D element, and topped off with a glass top. While the room walls appear to be stickers, it's still a lot of fun looking at all the details. The cards are also high quality with great illustrations and a gold leaf back. If you love CLUE and you've got money to blow on something frivolous, you could do worse than this game. However, if you're considering this as a gift for a kid, I wouldn't bother.

Very Impressive Set for The Price vs. The Times We Live In.
Absolutely gorgeous for what you get. First off, I'm a woodworker and understand what "fine" hardwoods like Oak, Walnut, Pecan, Maple, etc should look and feel like - this board is NOT made of solid hardwood. If it WERE - in say the same fashion as a Royal Selanger Cigar Humidor, it would cost upwards of $3500.00 - so before you "poo poo the fact it's a veneered finish over likely particle, plaster or softwood, get a grip on the times. This fit an finish on this set is very, very nice. Secondly, the 3 dimensional presentation is pretty dang awesome. The board surface is tempered glass and I can see they used a pre perforated, full color thick cardboard to represent the walls and floors, while objects sitting within the rooms are often made of gold anodized metal. No, they're not "Pewter" or "14 Carat" - as once again, hellooo -- this is a CONSUMER Luxury game, NOT a 1 off made for the Rothschilds in 1809. Do I like the fact it's made in China? No, but there is no human way you're going to get something this involved for under $1200 made outside China or the far East. The character cards are beautiful, and the set includes actual pencils and custom check pads. The weapons are all well made of again - a gold anodized metal, and the character pieces are wood pieces with metal bottoms to give them a nice weight and heft. I think this set is WELL WORTH any sum under $500 if you really love CLUE and have been looking for something truly neat looking and infinitely playable. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone, anywhere - from hereout, that is going to be able to provide this level of physical, tangible beauty at this price point. I can also personally say, the manufacturer "WS Game Company" boasts incredible customer service, and I am already eyeballing their Luxury edition of Monopoly thanks to their help, patience and courteous attention to details. 2 Side Notes: The Shipping carton they use to send these out is also perfectly constructed with a double walled cardboard exterior, then INNER lined with 1/4 inch styrofoam to protect every surface area of the inner box. My ONLY complaint would be the game's actual outer box/storage box. It's massive, and fairly crude - with a generic styrofoam interior support vs the board and faux leather bound cardboard accessories box inside. I feel this Luxury Edition could benefit from an old school, thick and sturdy sliding top to bottom drawer box with lid - like most old school board games exhibit. A+ otherwise imho.

Arrived promptly undamaged. There was a minor assembly defect with one of the room’s floor misaligned and not firmly attached. Quality check prior to boxing failed. Annoying given the price paid but otherwise beautiful product and fully functional.
