It makes 7 perfect servings, works exactly as described, easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store and the yogurt is absolutely delicious. Do try adding the powdered milk to the recipe for a great Greek yogurt, add your own flavorings/fruit! Shipment arrived earlier than expected and the product was packaged well with no damage. E-Ware EW-5K102B Electric Yogurt Maker ### ⭐ Not doing yogurt *by M***K on December 5, 2012* I choose this product to make some nice, smooth, creamy yogurt, but it simly does not work. We tried to follow the instructions, play with the different ratio milk/yogurt, checked all tips at the internet, tried best yogurt and milk available, the result was always some liquid a little bit similar to a buttermilk. Last chance I will try the yogurt starter and if the result will be the same, I will return it to Amazon. ### ⭐⭐ Flop-sort of! *by B***Y on July 2, 2012* I tried my first batch of yogurt. It didn't work. The yogurt never set up. I basically tried the recipe from the instruction booklet, which is very poor. I am not giving up yet, though! I plan to try another batch tomorrow, so that's why I gave the appliance 3 stars. There's still hope! I'm using a recipe from Mary Jane Toth's Cheesemaking book. I'm keeping the lids on the jars (the manufacturer says to put them on at the end of 6 hours) and I'm going to leave the yogurt in the appliance for more than 6 hours--maybe 8-12! I will try to renew my review at a later date.I tried it again. I used a recipe from Mary Jane Toth's Cheesemaking book. She has yogurt recipes in the back. I had to modify it once again, however, because her recipes make 2 quarts, not one liter. I let it "cook" for 13 hours and then did not touch it, except for putting it in the fridge, for 24 hours. I also left the lids on the jars during the incubating process. We tried two jars. They were wonderful! However, we tried two more just this morning and they were runny.All in all, I would not recommend this yogurt maker. The directions are hard to follow..like they were originally written in German and then sent to China and translated by the Chinese into English! After saving my pennies again, I will purchase a 2 quart yogurt maker from Hoegger Supply, no matter what the cost.
