It solves the problem of bathing properly after toileting because the "back side" is open (the other reason I purchased it)........however, it could be perfected by manufacturing a urine guard that could be attached to it , as there is a gap (as with all other chairs "over toilet") between the bottom of the chair and the top of the toilet seat which allows for urine to splash out.
