Great product!
I switched over to this brand of Shampoo/conditioner a few months ago and I love it! Its one of the few brands I can use due to eczema, and not only does it has a nice light scent, it makes my hair feel so clean and soft!

Awesome Choice
Researched for a good, quality natural conditioner. I love this scent. It doesn’t lather up the best, but if you add a little water to it, it will. The smell is amazing and lasts.

Thin and ineffective! Inferior compared to what it was!
I will say 2 nice things about this product first. It's organic... yay. It smells fantastic... a real lavender scent. Besides these things, I found this conditioner to be absolutely useless and ineffective! I used to buy Avalon Organics shampoo and conditioner regularly some years ago and was VERY satisfied with them. The only reason I stopped using them is because our budget got really tight and I had to buy cheaper products. As I have been able to buy nicer products again, I wanted to give Avalon another try. Feeling I could trust that it was a good product, I made the mistake of buying a really big bottle of it on Amazon, excited to see the good value. First... I was not able to get the pump nozzle to release by turning it, no matter what I tried. So, I just used it by pouring it out the top. I was extremely surprised and disappointed to find that it was a completely different consistency than I remember (but same great smell). When I used it years ago it was nice and thick and I didn't have to use a huge volume of it to get good coverage for my hair. This stuff was so thin, I had to use handfuls of it just to feel it on my hair at all, and even with a huge volume applied, I felt like there was nothing in my hair. Even what was in my hair just ran and dripped off instead of being retained and letting my hair soak in it a little while. After I rinsed and got out of the shower, I was disgusted to find that, as I tried to brush my hair, not only was my hair dry and tangly, as if it has not been conditioned at all, but I began to notice a waxy build up on my hair brush, which I have never yet experienced! I would return it if my return window was not already closed. Now it will probably just go in the trash... a complete WASTE of money and resources!

Lavender conditioner honest review
I ordered this for a camping trip , wanted a more natural option for the occasion; the smell is very herbal and refreshing, has a more thin runny texture than other conditioners I’ve used . After applying and rinsing your hair will have zero slip …it is conditioned but your hair will still have tangled so pair this with a good deranging spray afterwards . After my hair was dried it did feel soft and smelled nice . For the price and the use I think it’s a good natural option . ( my hair is thick and wavy for reference)

Definitely not very moisturizing
So I’m not usually what you’d call “picky” when it comes to my shampoo & conditioners. I just like to use products that have as few chemicals & fillers as possible so the more natural the better. However, when I used this conditioner I can honestly say I was surprised at how DRY it was in my hair. The texture in hand feels normal and it smells lovely, but the second it hits your hair it feels like it’s almost sticking to the hair instead of coating it for ease of management. I tried to use my fingers to comb through my hair and it was very very difficult to do. It took a long time to not just pull all of my hair out as I combed. I have really long, lightly curly but average textured (not frizzy prone) hair so it doesn’t take a LOT of conditioner for me to manage my hair. I will definitely not be buying this again. I’m sure there are better conditioning products out there that aren’t loaded with chemicals.

Great product, terrible packaging
The product itself is great, but the packaging was terrible. Most of it was left open inside, resulting in a messy cleanup inside the box.

Tangles, bleaches, and hard to spread
I have fairly sensitive skin and can get quite itchy if I use a shampoo or soap that has certain chemicals in it. So I've been on a quest to find soap, shampoo, and conditioner products that have fewer odd chemicals in this. My quest is challenging because I also donate my hair to charity every three years. So I need my hair to remain thick and healthy while I do this. Otherwise my charity donations will make recipients unhappy rather than happy. The Avalon Organics Lemon Conditioner seemed like it would be just right for me. My boyfriend loves the aroma of lemon, so that would be a plus. It would have fewer chemicals. It says it restores natural highlights and color. It removes build-up. All great! So I began trying it. First, the conditioner is very thick, and the container cannot sit on its lid. This means one has to really pound it to get the conditioner out. This is bad enough when the bottle is beginning, but by the end of the bottle it makes getting any out quite challenging. It means the last part of the bottle is wasted. Next, the instructions say to massage it in "from the roots up". Hmmm. I'm not sure how that's even technically possible unless one had an eyedropper. If I have a dollop of conditioner on my hand, and I put it on my head, it is going to touch the top of my hair first. I then have to massage it down *towards* the roots. I don't see how I could get it to start at the roots and then work its way out. The conditioner seems to get absorbed nearly instantly. That then means there isn't any left to "massage around" and get to the rest of the hair. Over my time with the bottle I used larger and larger (bordering on, to me, outrageous) amounts of conditioner on my hair. My hair is currently only just-past-shoulders length, too. It's not even at its full waist length point. I would put a giant dollop in my hand, start putting it on my hair, and it would vanish nearly instantly. It's not that my hair is super-dry either. If anything I'd call it slightly oily. So I never felt as if I was getting all my hair conditioned. When I was done, the hair would feel squeaky clean - which is a problem. When I then tried to comb or brush it, it would tangle. The hair was not detangling as most conditioners would do. It would catch on the brush or comb. So this meant more hair would pull out during the brushing process. All of this was odd enough. I've tested many, many conditioners over the years and not had this combination of issues happen before. But then the clincher. I was out kayaking with my boyfriend recently, and he looked at my head and then took a picture of it. Apparently my hair is now turning white at a prodigious rate where I am putting most of the conditioner. I have dark hair. I do realize that many people with blonde hair use lemon juice to bleach their hair and make it lighter. I should have realized this would happen. Because I am a sucker for punishment I will try the rosemary version to see if it's any better, and post a review there when I'm done testing. But I can unequivocally say that this lemon is just not for me. I would not recommend it for anyone with dark hair, or with long hair. It probably would be best for someone with short, blonde hair who likes the scent of lemon. I purchased this conditioner with my own funds.
