Using a sound meter app on my cell phone, I measured just over 50dB from a distance of 1 foot while it was running. That's low enough to have a standard conversation with no interference at all, much as a new beard trimmer. I compared that with a 45 year old compressor of half the size. It measured 74dB as it literally danced around the countertop, and it was deafening. The build quality and performance are just what I had expected and hoped for. The instructions don't tell you where to put the airbrush holder (it goes under the plastic nut of the regulator) but otherwise it is very easy to start using and is also very quiet. It warms up a little during extended use but the dual fans take care of that nicely.
