Excellent Receiver With All The Right Stuff... No Need To Upgrade!
Awesome RC receivers! The AR410 4-channel & the AR620 6-channel are compact, affordable and all the receiver the vast majority of fliers will ever need. Years ago, as a young engineer in the RC industry, I learned from experience that our radio technology far exceeds what most fliers will ever need or use. Often, simpler is obviously better. After carefully researching the current Spektrum product line, it seems these two supposed "entry level" receivers are among the best performing in the entire Spektrum lineup. Super simple with all the necessary features and conveniences (including telemetry). They are micro size & ridiculously lightweight (AR410 7g & AR620 8g). With no external antenna to hassle with and very nicely priced at $35 & $50 respectively, who could possibly need more? When used with the new NX series transmitters, these AR receivers even offer fly-by telemetry (800-foot range). I personally use a micro alarm on my airborne LiPo batteries to inform me of my battery condition. This avoids taking my eyes off my airplane to stare at squint-print on my transmitter LCD screen (or listening to some robo-voice squawk at me). I can simply focus on the joys of flying. But, obviously the telemetry feature entices plenty of customers to buy another gee-wiz, gotta-have, techno-gadget. This new series of Spektrum receivers perform flawlessly with both my NX8 (programmable) and DXe (basic) transmitters. Also, if you want to use Futaba servos with these receivers, you can even carefully trim off the tiny "interference tabs" on the receiver front plug-in opening (removing the plastic receiver face is best before trimming). Then, you can lightly clip off the Futaba servo connector key tab... and bingo, you have created a universal servo connector and a compatible receiver. Don't ya' just love companies that try to insist on making their product proprietary -- when it serves no functional purpose? As a serious and active 3D flier these days, I've found both the AR410 & AR620 to be very capable and reliable receivers that perform flawlessly under the most demanding conditions. I own two of each receiver and have experienced zero issues with any of them. I see no reason to get caught up in the addictive "upgrade" syndrome when these fantastic micro receivers meet my needs completely. Check them out for yourself.

This little 4 ch. receiver has exceeded my expectations for the price point.
Spektrum used to have a bad rep for either making their branded receivers too expensive for what you get or ignoring customer demands. The AR 410 drastically changes this. I'm hoping this trend continues. The new iteration has a surprisingly good range considering it uses an internal antenna. I'd rather not say how long I've spent routing the antennae on my Assassin 39" while using the AR-400. The receiver also has its pins on the end of the device rather than on the top. Obviously it's not a new innovation but it's nice to finally see Spektrum finally decide to implement it into more of their receivers. it's so much easier to route servo wires when you don't have to worry about wires from the receiver binding into a servo control horn. The bind button and telemetry are just amazing additions to an already amazing receiver. I always saw the bind plug as a necessary evil. Now you just hold the bind button while powering the plane on, or hold it for about 5 seconds while it's already on. Telemetry is new to me but the DX6 made it stupid simple to use. The receiver comes with flight log and voltage telemetry. My plane has a BEC so the voltage telemetry isn't greatly useful. However, it might be of more use to someone flying a DLG or using nitro (maybe, never used one). Overall, i'm impressed with how Spektrum has stepped up their receiver game. They're not the cheapest out there, but they work well and they'll last the test of time.

Receiver is ok for 4 channel aircraft.
For the price is too high. When bind to radio is missed configuration for other receivers had to redo all the others. Might be a thing of the brand and not this receiver model. All items of this brand are overpriced for the quality.

This is just too easy to set up!
I gave the directions a quick read on how to bind it to my transmitter and wow! 15 seconds later it was done! Very simple. I'll admit, the idea of it not having an external antennae is a bit unsettling to me but I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I'm still mentally stuck in the dark ages when we used 72Mhz receivers that contained a crystal and had a 3' long wire for an antennae. I use this receiver with a DX6i transmitter and it works fine.

Lightweight and Long Range
I previously had issues with range with a lemon 6ch receiver but I then installed this and preformed a range check on low power and to my surprise after 200-300 feet I still had connection and got tired of walking and checking knowing on low power the normal range to check is 30-60 feet. I installed this and the way it bounded so solidly from the beginning gave a nice boost in confidence that I won't lose signal mod flight. I've had many successful flights with the plane leaving me at least 600-800 feet away and no issues with connection. Will be buying spektrum again
