Good top
Installed it during the summer. 8 months later, and it is still holding up fine with no leaks. Definitely a two-person job, expect it to take a day or two if it's your first time. I wouldn't say it's hard to install, just time-consuming the first time. Looks great, works well, and is a great value for the price. Fit a bit tight at first, which is expected. Make sure to gradually tighten the latches over a few days.

The top looks great on my 1996 Mazda Miata
The top looks great on my 1996 Mazda Miata. It'll take you a while to get the sucker on - maybe even turn you into an alcoholic in the process as you sweat, swear, and squeeze your body into the tight compartments of the small Miata finagling around to install it. I think it took me a full day to do this project. There were some points when I had to walk away because I was going to burn the mother down... The only thing I didn't do was use contact adhesive as I attached it back together. I don't drive it in bad weather so felt this part wasn't necessary (maybe I'm wrong, oh well). I couldn't fit the small metal brackets back on that go near the area above the door handles / just off where the seat belt area is...don't know how to describe them (Picture attached). I don't really notice any difference with them not on. It did take a few days to be able to fully close the top. I left it out in the hot Vegas sun, covered the front area with a tarp, and put some ~ 10-20 pound dumbbells to keep tension on it. It's actually pretty quiet driving around when I had to have the top up twice on a recent road trip due to bad weather. While I did get rained/snowed on, the top is water tight and there were no signs of water dripping through the material/osmosis occurring or any type of those shenanigans. The material appears of great quality and the clear/plastic window is a very good gauge material that I can't see tearing any time soon. I even got an extra piece of vinyl in my order for some reason. Thanks... I opted for this tan color being that my car color was based off the M-edition special paint job (but the factory installed top was black). Everyone who sees it likes the color contrast. Living in Vegas though, I rarely have the top up. :) I would buy this top again. Will put some photos up when I get back from my road trip.

Red Miata with Tan Top
The quality of this top is great. It looks and feels like the original top I replaced on my son's 1990. I changed the color of the top from black to tan on his original red Miata. The tan looks fine. Let me say this is a very tough job for a beginner, but we did it. The online instructions are very vague, almost worthless. You will have to go to youtube to watch several videos. The upholstery shop we visited gave an estimate of $600 to replace the top. We said what the heck, let's try it. We are pretty handy and it took us about 15 hours all together. I am not sure it was worth the $400 we saved but the time we spent together will make memories. Let me give you a few tips if you are going to install it yourself. Number all your parts for right or left side when you take them off.Do not drill out the front cable rivets, just remove the crews holding the spring at the rear and let the cables hang. When you install them on the new top use a coat hanger making a hook on one end to thread them through the new top. There is plenty of room to carefully guide the cable and spring through the opening. I ordered the factory installed rain rail with the top. It will save you from riveting the rail to the top but you will have to work from the inside of the car. Removing both seats is a must for access. There are only 4 bolts for each seat. An old original rain rail will break when you remove the old top. The new rain rail is not very flexible so it is hard to line up the holes with the bolt studs so use a hot air gun to heat the rain rail so you can line up the holes. Hot air gun is $10 at Harbor Freight. When we were done the top would not close, so we put some weight on it overnight. Loosen some of the bolts at the rain rail to give you some slack and then close the top. Have fun (Ha Ha) and enjoy your new top.

Great top for the money!
For the price of this top I think it's great. Are there better tops out there? Yes, but will pay for that quite dearly. As with any vinyl top you have to take care of it. For me that means treating it with 303 every time I wash the car. Not bad to install if you take your time. You may want to label the trim pieces for ease of reassembly. Also be sure to order new tension cables at the same time as it's very likely they have failed (as I found out the hard way) Also inspect the seals, as this is a perfect time to replace them if needed. Moss Miata has the seals and upgraded tension cables. I got the option with the new rain rail which saves some work and the OEM one is most likely done for.

Terrible product. Spend the extra money on a Robbins top.
UPDATE: After completing the installation, I've changed my review from a 2 star to a 1 star. Seriously, avoid this product and go with a better company. They miscut the holes and the stitching is off. The top ripped at a section due to the poorly cut stitching. No, they don't offer returns if you rip the top due to their own negligence. I wasted a full $330 on this garbage, and now I get to spend $500 more buying another top from a legitimate company. I regret this purchase. I regret trying to save $100 by going with the cheaper brand. Right now, 12 hours into this convertible top installation, I regret life in general. It's a great product if you want something that comes with no instructions. Fantastic if you want a top with mounting holes that aren't cut out right. Amazing if you want to waste an entire day trying to work around said poorly cut mounting holes. Otherwise, avoid.

love it
fit really good and is made really good as well. i’m assuming the people who are having them rip aren’t sun baking it prior to installation. i sun baked mine for 2 days and it the installation took maybe 2-3 hours.

The product came very fast and on time. My sister installed the top for me. It took a good eight hours. Make sure you put it out in the sun to stretch. It’s a lot of work, but turned out great. Great product I would recommend it to anyone.
