Review: The best yogurt maker on the market, in my opinion - This is a wonderful yogurt maker! I love the small jars which are one serving each. I appreciate having the larger stainless steel insert as well, however, I prefer glass. So I went to Walmart and was able to find a 5 cup glass container with a silicone lid that actually fits perfectly! I am happy. The larger insert will be better for making a large batch that can be strained to make the thicker Greek yogurt. The day I got it, I cleaned everything and sterilized the jars and started my yogurt. I bought this one because I can set it to run for up to 40 hours. I make L Reuteri and L Gasseri, which requires 36 hours. Just as important is that I am able to set the exact temperature as well. It only uses celsius and not fahrenheit, so you have to do the conversion. My yogurt needs to be set between 98-99 d fahrenheit, which equates to 37 d celsius. The pamphlet with the directions is well done and easy to follow. I had no problem. It worked perfectly for me and my yogurt came out perfectly. I've use it only once so far, but if I have any issues in in the future, I'll be sure to update this review.

Set it and forget it - My first batch was made with a water immersion gadget that hubby uses to cook his prime rib at just the perfect time and temp. my yogurt turned out a little runny .mostly curds and whey, very strong cheesy flavor. However this yogurt maker was the perfect size, one quart, which is plenty for me for right now. It was very easy to set the time and temp set it and forget it. However I did use a cooking thermometer to check the temp a few times and it performed with consistency. This batch turned out so so very much better ...creamy and tangy but not offensive. as you can see still has a little bit of liquid on the top so I may tweak the recipe a bit because I would like to have thicker l reuteri yogurt (38°C/36hours)
