It's kind of hard to get floor marking tape wrong, and 3M sure didn't here. The tape is sticky and doesn't come up unless you're specifically pulling it to, not with people stepping on it. The tape unwinds from the roll predictably and doesn't curve or anything weird, allowing you to put down straight lines easy. The yellow is mildly reflective making it easy to see, and there was more than enough in the rolls for our job. It's compact enough making it easy to handle and not too heavy despite being such a large quantity roll.

I am using this heavy duty vinyl tape to secure my plastic mat for my rolling desk chair in place. I purchased one of those plastic mats for rolling chairs because my office chair is difficult to roll across the carpeting in my classroom. But, the plastic mat slides around the carpet and I got tired of constantly tugging it back into place. I tried using what I had on hand last school year (masking tape and book tape), but these solutions did not work - either the tape tore too easily, or it just peeled up and let the mat continue to slide around. So far, this vinyl tape seems to be doing the trick. It is nice and thick, so it is going to take a TON of abuse before it will start to tear. It is nice and sticky, so it is adhering well to my high-traffic-approved, very short-pile carpet, and my mat has stayed put since taping it down about 4-5 weeks ago. Even if I have to reapply it every so often, this tape is still a huge improvement over my previous attempts, so I am happy. As an extra bonus, the bold yellow color acts as a reminder to my young students to stay behind the tape line, since there is no reason for them to be using anything on my desk.

Pros - Heavy duty vinyl is thick, impossible to rip or tear. Easily and permanently written on with marker. Doesn’t twist or stick to itself, so it's good for marking out very straight and long lines. Bright yellow color is visible in dim light. Cons - Not exceptionally sticky so floor must be very clean and dry before trying to secure down; any dust or moisture will greatly impact adhesion. But does work well after taking the time to give the floor a good cleaning.

This floor marking tape is outstanding and a superb product for industrial or high-traffic areas! 3M makes the best tapes and designs and manufactures them to specific applications. This tape is for marking hard floors in heavy traffic industrial locations. I didn't order this for a commercial application. I'm using it to mark my garage floor to identify vehicle parking locations. I expect it to last a very long time in this residential application. My digital caliper confirms the stated 17 mil thickness. It is fairly easy to cut with a razor knife, but I had no success at all trying to tear it by hand. I have no way to accurately measure the tape's adhesive strength, but the tape lifted paint from the garage floor when I peeled it off and I couldn't budge it by pulling it in the shear direction. I'm confident that it will withstand being driven on by a heavy truck. This tape isn't designed to be stretchy. For its target use - floor marking - it will work perfectly. The color is very visible "safety" yellow. I wouldn't recommend using this specially designed tape as a replacement for duct tape or electrical tape or any other application requiring a thin, flexible, stretchable tape, nor should it be rated low for not having those properties. The price for this product is reasonable for low quantity buys

I needed an area blocked off on a concrete floor to keep people from storing pallets and other items. However, this area is a main thoroughfare during an annual event. So I swept, mopped with soapy water, mopped with rinse water, and allowed to dry for 24 hours. I used the tape to mark a large square. The tape stuck well. It was easy to trim. It is highly visible. It looks great. During the four day event, 700-1000 feet walked on the tape. We also drove over it with a scissors lift. It was also mopped with a wet mop, had carts rolled over it. It didn’t peel back. It didn’t show any unusual signs of wear. Rolling it with something like a linoleum roller will help it adhere. This is one tough, durable tape worth every penny. I would highly recommend.

This 3M tape is durable, thick and works well. Great quality and color is very vibrant. If you're looking for quality use this tape it will stick.
